it seems you can upgrade to kitkat on this. Not sure if 5 will make it as official update but im sure it will be a custom rom at some point.

Did Samsung update the Note 8 in the past year? Or am I confusing that with the Samsung tablet that comes in 7 and 8 inch versions?

I find Samsung's naming policy so utterly confusing folks.
#16
How's this versus the tab 3 7"

True, but I have a nexus 7 and have suffered ghost touching, freezing, slow and unresponsive OS/chrome. I had to spend hours finding fixes and trouble shooting online or wait for OS fixes. Its now usable but often runs slow requiring rebooting to resolve. So even my nexus 7 which many use as a benchmark for review comparisons has been a pain in the butt! And don't get me started on our old Ipad 2 after updating to latest OS!

This is a great Android tablet and despite not having a full HD display the screen is of excellent quality. The S-Pen is marvellous, too. I bought mine for £160 earlier in the year when everyone else was priced at £229 so this is a very good price. Mine has since received the KitKat update. No problems at all with KitKat. You have a microSD slot for extra storage too. Highly recommended for the price.

Just got rid of this for the Tab S. Was OK but lagged. I guess down to bloat ware with all of the pre inatlled apps.
#23
Gone for it, thanks OP. Hopefully won't have any of the shenanigans I had with O2 over the 10.1 deal last week.....
#24
Ordered one on cyber Monday from Tesco and did not receive it even after a week. Cancelled the online order, went instore and got it for £124! Loving the tablet :D. Good deal OP but beware delivery time.
#25
This or hudl2. It says hudl2 is better PPI. And is twice the resolution ???
#26
Seems like an awesome deal :)
#27
I have this, a cracking fast responsive tablet and yes It' upgraded to Kitkat 4.4.2 great price, cheaper than I paid for it....definitely a bargain :-)
#28

#29
The link shows this as Wi-Fi only but the specs provided here makes it appear to be the cellular version.

The only Galaxy Tabs that will get the Android 5 (Lollipop) upgrade are:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S (8.4 & 10.5)
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro (8.4, 10.1, &12.2)
Samsung Galaxy Note Pro (8.8, 10.1, and 12.2).
This will be released in January or February 2015

I am currently using the 7 Tab Lite as a replacement for a Note 8.0 that got stolen (after one month) in Malaysia :(

The Lite is an awful thing, so annoyingly slow, will probably root & custom it at some point before it drives me mad :|

That was in March and I still miss the NOte LOL, paid twice as much as well but was worth it IMO for the great S-pen (was learning Japanese at the time).

Tempted to buy this but am thinking of New Year's sales and I suppose a new model will be on the way shortly (as ever in IT, and especially with Samsung who seem to flood the market with product at times...)!

Silly question, but does it play bbc i player.
