Brilliant Deal if it is the product for you!! Tesco in Bristol have Galaxy Note 8.0 for £124.00. I bought the same tablet on Black Friday Deal from Asda for £149.00. So saved myself £25.00 by returning the Asda one and buying this one.

Trying to make not one of those Goose Chases, I've asked instore and been advised this product is with Tesco Cribbs Causeway and Tesco Eastville. However you can always try and ask locally.

Also it seems some of the tablets have 16GB Micro SD card included. Look out for a Blue sticker 16GB internal memory + 16GB Micro SD Card.

Stick Civato's rom/kernel on this. Works very well. Screen res may not be up to today's crowd but still a good purchase.

Depends what you want it for. If it's just for games, internet, email and media consumption, you'll not beat the Hudl2, not even in a bargain, so don't try. If you want an s-pen and will use it for note taking etc, this is good.

Thanks asm80, no I don't think my daughter has ever taken note !!!!!!

Still using motorola xoom 10.1 since 3 years and have unofficially updated to Kitkat which works great watching films and playing games. I use it because the build quality of motorola is best I have seen compared to any other tablet.

It really depends on what your daughter wants from a tablet.

I'd personally stay away from samsung. They have lot of bloat apps on their tablets unless you want to root and install custom rom than it is fine. I'd rather go Nexus 7 models. I am speaking from experience of samsung S2, S3 and S4 and then I stopped finally getting any more of samsung's products

I've just ordered a new Samsung Note 10.1 to replace my aging first generation Tab 8.9. Was wondering what to do with the 8.9 - too slow even for the wife to use. Could I put better OS on it?

(Sorry, off-topic)

Thanks ukripper, yes agree with Samsung don't know much about the Nexus but the Hudl 2 does seem to have very good reviews.

There are still a few left in Bradley Stoke with 16GB Micro SD included in the box.
#24
anyway to check local stock?

There's probably better tablets if you want something for gaming, but as a work machine these are excellent. Runs 2apps at the same time in split screen mode, polaris office opens all windows (word, excel, powerpoint), handwriting recognition is spot on & that little pen is a nice touch

Have some heat

Bought this 6 months ago and it is simply awesome, tab 8.4 is better but for this price it's super hot! As good as ipad, less smooth but just a step above for customisation
