May not be at the top of many people's list of desirable phones but if you need an Android phone with a keyboard it could be an option.

This appears to be the best price from a reputable vendor though I think you could save a few quid by getting it on Three PAYG and then paying for an unlock code from them but it would still have Three branding.

Plus the cost of unlocking and then it will still have Three branding.

Yes but me thinks that you are not comparing like for like. The Three deal, which I mentioned myself, is for a looked and branded PAYG phone. Do you know of a better deal for a SIM free unbranded phone?

I think the point I was making was even after sim unlocking it's still cheaper on the three deal. But yeah point taken sim unlocked out of the box.

Indeed, which is why I mentioned the Three option in my original post for those people who would be happy to get it unlocked and have the Three branding.

The reason that I finally decided to take the SIM free option was because of future firmware upgrades. Unbranded phones always get them before branded versions and in some cases the branded versions never get them.

Bought the wife the one from 3. Its unlocked out of the box surprisingly. Updates aren't an issue no doubt there will be plenty of custom roms to come.

The wife is finally rid of her ctapberry!!
