****UPDATE tariff can be dropped after 9 months to 15.00pm saving a further 45.00 lowering total price to 315.00 or as low as 280.00 if cashback tracks !!!

Was waiting for this on orange but was going to cost too much...found on dial a phone by sorting by lowest cost per month.

100min unltd txts for 20.00pm over 18 months = 360.00 (same price range as sim only or in contract purchase from O2) plus if quidco tracks get another 35.00 back! no redemption no sending bills etc

mobile insurance is 6.99 a month and is mandatory as is gadget line for around 3.00 a month, however both these can be canceled at any time.

I think this is a great deal as the handset should be unlocked as O2 and dial a phone (if not i will be returning under DSR) its like getting interest free credit and the bonus of some inclusive minutes and texts...why not use the O2 contract to get discounted landline and/or broadband.

Not sure if this is a mistake on dial a phones part so i have screen dumped the whole ordering and checkout process. I cant find cheaper anywhere else...you can get more mins and txts but will cost more and involve redemption offers....if you just want the handset and dont want to have to pay up front this seems like a winner

You need a data plan to fully use this phone(or any smartphone) imo
#2
I agree this needs a data plan...i already have a contract with a good plan...this just seemed the best way to get the handset without paying 360.00 (sim free price) upfront...get to spread the cost and get some free mins and txts
#3
cold deal for me, no internet - useless
#4
Just add a data bolt on from O2...unsure of price, but prob around £7.50 per month.

£27.50 per month is still good for me!

I went for this deal and is due to be delivered tomorrow... :)
#5
as i said its not the contract thats the deal...its the fact that the overall cost of ownership is the same as buying the phone upfront without the need to syump up the 360.00 on day 1. also the 02 contract has some free mins and texts that might prove useful and will allow discounted landline and or broadband thru O2 should one so choose.
#6
glad the deal has suited someone and yeah even with a data bolt on stuck on top 27.50 is a month is great on an 18 month without faffing about with redemption offers (send a copy of your bill stained with virgins blood under the light of a blue moon by delivery ninjas and you may get some money off lol) much easier like this
#7
O2 couldn't match this deal when I phoned them up to upgrade.
£149 they wanted for handset...no thank you!
#8
Thats great deal if u add one of the Bolt-ons for Data
#9
Nice Deal !?
#10
Is the bolt-on definitely £7.50? Does anyone have a link?

Also, this would be my first phone contract: do you deal with O2 customer support or with dialaphone (if I wanted to add more minutes, cancel the contract etc)?

Are these fones any good?

best android to date and dare i say it on par with iphone if not better (im going to get a barrage of abuse now from the apple squad), i have ordered one hope they honour it as these are £450 on pay as you go
#13
ordered.thanks op. i have a feeling o2 will let u add web for the entire contract for £5...failing this i will order a 15/month sim only deal from o2 thru quidco with 100cashback...total 26.67 a month (this contract plus a sim only) which for all the fuss is cheaper than taking a contract out on o2 with this phone!

agreed this phone is a weapon!

This is probably a better deal though if you don't mind Orange and can manage a 2 year deal - 300 mins Any Network Anytime + Unlimited Texts Push Email + 500MB Data @ £25 a month - phone costs £30 but likely to get £50 back through cashback site www.topcashback.co.uk

ordered one
one more thing, is this phone locked to O2 or sim free?
if locked, how to unlock it?
thanks
#16
Decided to go for this one. Hope I don't regret it.

is it better than htc

They certainly have more similarities than differences. Main things the Galaxy S has going for it over the Desire: [LIST]
[*]Physically larger screen which is much more readable outdoors
[*]More capable graphics processor (3x faster in benchmarks).

Hehe.....nice one, op. I mentioned this deal on the T-Mobile Galaxy Portal thread at lunchtime today.

...(ordered myself a Samsung Galaxy S from Dialaphone on an 18mth o2 contract at £20pm with the handset free)....Whilst on the phone to T Mobile to get this deal, I decided to upgrade my own T-Mobile contract to 300 mins xnet, 300 texts and unlimited internet for £10 pm. The idea being my old T Mob sim will go in the Samsung Galaxy S (dialaphone assured me it's unlocked and unbranded), I'll give the O2 sim to the other half, as he hates mobile phones so this will get him using one. ...

Incidentally, the Galaxy S from Dialaphone works out cheaper than buying the handset sim-free (£360 on contract vs £450 sim free).

I did go through TCB, which has already tracked at £35.35, bring the cost of the phone down to a nice £324.65 overall!

By the way, you should be aware of this:

That is after CS assuring me this afternoon that the phone was on its way to me and that I will receive it tomorrow. My order status has said "Released to Oracle" for most of the day.

Do you (or does anyone else) happen to know if this is the 16GB or 8GB model? Not particularly fussed, although obviously it'd be nicer to have the more capacious one!

8gig - the 16gig is a vodafone exclusive. You have to get that one direct from Vodafone. Still, it works out cheaper buying it this way than it would buying it sim free. It's especially handy if you have a t-mob contract which gives you a much better FUP on their "unlimited" internet than all other carriers.
#22
Be warned....nice phone but sadly lacks a camera flash!
#23
any one get the phone deliveried?
#24
this is a fantastic deal.
just to confirm before i order one immediately.
this is the brand new i9000 samsung phone with the super amoled screen?
and, if this comes locked to o2, do you think that it is possible to unlock it using one of the online unlockers that normally charge about a tenner?

thanks
#25
Mine was delivered about half an hour ago. It's unlocked and unbranded. Stuck my T-Mobile sim in and off I was! Loving it already!

Yes, it is the brand new i9000. It's unlocked...a vanila phone, as it were - unlocked and unbranded. No network crap on it at all.
#27
thanks mate. i will get my order in straight away. i take it i can just call them and cancel the insurance etc... once i get it delivered
#28
this is a total steal. you cant buy this phone currently for less than £400. so to get it for 360, plus some quidco is outstanding, this should be far hotter than it is.

Yep, you can..and thanks for reminding me - better go do that now!
#30
Don't forget to cancel the gadget helpline subscription, too.
#31
will do, just ordered it, should come to my work on thursday.
i take it there will be paperwork telling me how to cancel the helpline and insurance?
#32
There's info on how to cancel the insurance. I've decided not to cancel just yet - just in case. Will just make sure I cancel it by August! I'm waiting for a reference number to cancel the gadget thing.

By the way, T-Mobile now has this phone in stock. They just called me to offer it to me. £35 a month for 900 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. The Mobile.co.uk deal for the same allowance is better at £30 a month, but you pay £50 for the handset - if you go through TCB, you get that back anyway.

Good to know, as I only took this contract out because it's the cheapest way of getting this handset sim free.
#35
This deal should be at least 10x hotter. Just got notice that it's been dispatched to Royal Mail and should arrive tomorrow.
#36
new tariff seems expired
please check it
#37
nope its still on...follow the deal link and sort by cheapest deal cost or cheapest monthly cost.
#38
checked and got an email, says its due tomorrow :) will update with impressions of phone etc

Yes, it's a crap tariff, but it's the cheapest way to get this brand new unlocked, unbranded samsung flagship phone. With cashback and downgrading the tariff at 9 months, you get this phone for £269.65, instead of £450. The O2 contract isn't important - just chuck the sim in a drawer.
#40
and you have to sort the deals table out by effective monthly cost - then you'll see the £20 a month O2 deal. Meant £279.65 earlier, by the way!
