great deal if you get your money from the redemption.

How does the O2 deal work out better when you come to use the phone?

"The tariff is 100 minutes & unlimited text, no data. "

you'll pay for data, very few minutes, but loads of text. Not very good if you actually want to use the phone for what its designed for, internet on the move, complete social interaction, and you want to phone people too!

not really with that deal you might aswell buy the phone on its own as you are getting no data which makes that contract useless. Total of this deal is £500 without topcashback... which is £20.83 a month... or say you sell the phone for £300... thats £200/24= £8.33 a month for line rental.
Mobiles.co.uk is owned by carphone warehouse so should easily get the money back by redemption

just looked at this deal again... and i cant see anywhere if this deal includes unlimited web! its one of those text contracts and not a web tariff so i think its not included either! what a waste lol.. COLDD

EDIT: actually found the deal its web 600 ....... hottt

No its the WEB 600, not text 600! don't be so quick to slate it, click show all deals on tmob, then 24 month, then CTRL - F you browser for "WEB 600" its hidden quite well

T-Mobile
Web 600
(24 months)
600 Mins Any
Network Anytime + 500 Texts
+ Unlimited web browsing
More info
£25.00 8 months 1/2 price
Free

if you work out the monetary value of this tarif with the unlimited web, text and mins its vast.

I use the phone to wireless tether so save £20 a month line rental/broadband through virgin to boot!

This looks like a good deal. I just got a retention deal with Vodafone for £20 per month (24 months) for 300 mins, unlimited text and 500Mb internet. I had to pay £25 for the phone though, which I didn't mind too much. If I hadn't received the above, I'd have seriously considered this though, although I dont like the idea of claiming cash back too much...

hi guys i just ordered one from phones4u... its on orange 500min unlimited txts and 500mb internet for £27.50 a month on 18months contract.

If you want to know my logic in buying from phones4u is theres no hassle, no redemption and £27.50 direct to orange. it works out £495 total but say the phone costs 300 at the moment... thats £195 for line rental for 18months which is £10.83 a month.

Now for this deal (500total - £300phone) it is £200 line rental total /24 = £8.33 a month so what i am really paying is exactly £2.50 a month more for ending the contract 6 months earlier which is much better in my opinion. Ofcourse after 18months i will get another new shiny fone and hopefully another good deal.

Seriously read the reviews of the site its 99% bad reviews for the past 2 months.

I've used all of the cashback websites before (E2Save, Dialaphone, Mobiles, Onestopphoneshop) and Mobiles is such a terrible company. I didn't get two of my cashback cheques even though I emailed them my bill about 15 times. You then email them to complain and they never respond. Stay well away from this company. They're nothing like the others. Con merchants!!!

That deal is far better even if you do need to get another sim contract from somewhere (Vodafone 12 month sim only with £100 quidco cashback)

the deal i got works out to be roughly £11 line rental 500mins, unlimited txt and 500mb internet... and thats assuming phone costs £300 so my deal is better as you cant get that sim only for £10 on vodafone... even after cashback... £27.50 a month for 18months.

£2.50 a month more and you get no data! on a data phone.

Unlimited text is great back in the 80's, but with the galaxy i've been browsing it out in the car, at the breakfast bar, in the park, in work even on the throne!

Have a look at your data charges after your 500mb then come and tell me its a good deal ;)

With mobiles.co.uk i've had no hassle, and £25 a month direct to tmobile.

the top cash back and 8.5 months half price line rental further sweeten the deal.

If we base comparisons on redemption, £450 over the contract - £300 phone = £150 = £6.25 a month with unlimited web!

t-mobile is **** in my area tho. Have no signal in my own house so it's not an option for me lol. 500mb should be enough. I will mostly use wifi anyway

also you will be able to use orange network when tmob has no reception automatically from October :D

really bad reviews for cashback

Money from the redemption and cashback aside, this is still the best pay monthly deal out there at present for the galaxy s.

Just nabbed it myself, cheers op. :)

good deal
good phone..if only samsung didnt use a plastic body for it
gives it a cheap feel!
shame
#27
COLD, its too expensive.
#28
Redemption no thanks they use this so you might forget or mess it up, To much hassle for most
#29
Took 8 months of bullying TopCashback to get £30 cashback from mobiles.co.uk on a HTC desire contract... They are (as previously stated) appalling. If you are factoring the Topcashback into making this deal worthwhile then be aware it is commonplace for it to take well over 6 months (read the reviews on site) and Mobiles state many times that the cashback is advertised incorrectly and the dont pay out on all handsets... beware!

A Three shop I passed yesterday was advertising the Galaxy S with 500 cross network minutes, unlimited text, unlimited data for £20 a month. Presumably a 24 month contract.

Think Three in-store is the only place I hadn't checked as it goes. Checked a lot of other stores and everywhere I could think of online. Three online's best deal is £30pm on this and you pay £50 for the phone.

In-store sounds good though, will have a look today.

Yeah I was quite suprised when I finally got my hands on one. Wasn't as nice as all the reviews and poitive comments seemed to suggest. Im pleased I went with the desire, a much nicer phone.

was this definitely the Galaxy S and not the Galaxy portal?

Not saying you are lying, just this happened in another thread and it turned out to be the Galaxy Portal!

Good deal on a great phone, voted Hot.
There is an issue with the GPS at the moment on these but this is hopefully getting fixed in the next few days along with the Android 2.2 release.

great phone and good price BUT mobiles.co.uk have terrible reviews and cashback with them is a right effort from what I've read which puts me off.
the phones4u/dialaphone £27.50 a month /18 months is a better offer imo

Hmmm, I'll check again today. Until then I withdraw. It definitely didn't say Portal but I'd be lying if I said it 100% said Galaxy S. Apologies if i do turn out to be mistaken.

[quote=original77]BTW, you do realise that "Wireless AP" juast means you can connect to the net via your home ISP?

Wrong, when you turn Wireless AP on in the menu it turns your phone into a wireless router, then you goto a laptop or something with wifi, search and the galaxy s will show up, connect with the key the galaxy s tells you and you can use the internet on the laptop through the phones 3g connection, no tethering or anything, just as if you have connected to any other router.
