I went to T-mobile to renew my contract. I was looking for free HTC Desire, £25/month, 18 months contract. Guy couldn't find nothing even near to this what I was looking for but he offered me Galaxy S instead. I ended with £20 for Galaxy S, 18 month contract, £20 a month, 100 mins / 100 txts / 3GB Web / flex booster..

(18x£20+£20)/18=£21.11 a month or £380 for phone worth over £400 it works for me.
No hassle with Quidco or redemption :)

BUT now is a big question: stay with it or exchange it for Desire???

ONLY AVAILABLE ON RETENTION DEAL.
i.e. You haev to already have a contract with T-Mobile .

I think this should be in Misc, as it is not necessarily a deal?

You can't buy this phone for £ 21.11 ! Perhaps put total cost instead of monthly rental ?

Hot from me!! Great phone too.
#6
Do you get the flexible booster on top, ie really got unlimited texts?
#7
Are you sure its the galaxy S and not the Apollo?
Looks remarkably like this basic deal (-£10 on the phone cost)

T-Mobile shop link for Galaxy Apollo

To get what you say (in store I assume) you must have haggled for 30minutes at least :)

Because this would be the standard cost on that amount per month:

T-Mobile shop link for Galaxy S

If you've got what you they then damn well done there!!!
#8
see, if this was online I'd have grabbed it in a second. Can't be arsed haggling though, stick with my cruddy PAYG ;)

Yes, flexible booster is as additional extras, I've got Euro "something" for now.

Not really, the first idea guy came with was the same contract but with no £20 up front, he couldn't push it through the system and then he apologised for a mistake and said that I have pay today £20.

I got mine through phones4u on orange a couple of weeks ago... 500 mins, unlimited texts, 500meg internet (fine if not using video), on an 18 month contract, free phone... from my research they also have better coverage... however it was 27.50 a month down from 35.00... not sure if it is still on but worth a look if you need more mins and texts/better coverage.

I am very into technology and this phone is probably the best out there by quite a bit, the only downside is that there is no flash on the camera which is a very poor design choice in my opinion, especially when the apollo has it! People ask me why I got this over an iphone and i want to hit them lol (I think iphones are good, but way over hyped). 2.2 soon!!!
#11
I too have got this , but payed 100 Pounds , and monthly 23 Pounds in T-mobile.600 mins , + unlimited Data and landlines ... Veyr happy with the phone , as indicated , camera with no flash .... jus that is the downside.
#12
what's the battery life like compared to the desire - worse due to bigger screen?
#13
329.99 + £10 top up on O2 offline... Ideal for anyone looking for just a phone... Even more ideal if you're looking for a phone locked to O2.

Never really understood the point of getting a snazzy phone with next to no minutes or texts, I guess if you're using it exclusively for internet but then why buy a phone?!

My old HTC Touch HD I used mostly for internet on the move, email, sat nav, router, WiFi checker, sometimes camera, watching movies (previous job). I have access to phones for free at work and I use them a lot. 100 mins is enough for me on my days off and after work. Instead of texting I use emails. And answer for a question: it is not a phone it is smart-phone with phone function. More pointless is to buy a cheap phone for make a calls with no minutes and texts.

Its an upgrade, pointless post really, most people will not get the "deal" even if your with t-mobile and its time to upgrade they treat everybody different depending on your history with them
#22
This show you what you can be offered. It is better to know before you will go to the shop. I was prepared and they didn't try to "feed" me with some unneeded stuff. It was my second attempt this day but in the different shop. In the first one lady just showed me peace of paper prepared for her and she told that this is everything what she can do. In the second shop guy started to speak with me and he was more flexible. Check other deals when people phone to the T-Mobile and they have to argue with managers to get something more than on the website. My history in T-Mobile: 3 years with them all ready, last contract £35 a month and usual I paid few quid more for international calls, quite poor history isn't it?

I have this phone on T Mobile - 24m contract £25/m unlimited internet 600 minutes phone calls and 500 texts which is fine for me. The phone is absolutely brilliant - beautiful screen loads of apps - its basically a small computer in your pocket. Froyo update is slated as 23rd September in a lot of the Android forums though some already have it (although not through Samsung - for the sake of a few weeks I'm waiting for the official upgrade). I love this phone and wouldn't hesitate if you can get a half way decent deal.

Amazing phone and a good deal. I had iphone before this and liked it. This one does everything iphone does but slightly better and the system is much more open for customization out of the box. It's especially a good choice for people that like to watch good quality videos on the go as it plays most formats (including mkv -x264) and benefits from high resolution super amoled screen.

If you're very into technology, then your research would have discovered this... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-11199786

In terms of voice calls, network coverage between Orange and T-Mobile is very soon not going to be an issue.

Ok the deal is only for retentions, meaning you have to already have a contract with T-Mobile and then threaten to leave T-Mobile. This is when they will offer you the retention deal. So not available for everyone. In fact available to hardly anyone!

It is like:
Costco - you have to have membership,
Holidays with flight from London - you have to get there if you live in ie. Scotland,
Virgin credit card - Have to be a home owner with good credit record,
ANY mobile network - you need to have bank account to take contract with.
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/wedding-package-deal-199-premier-in/760124 - you can't benefit from this deal if you are already married.
T-Mobile - to get this deal you have to be with them before,

There is plenty of "hot" deals only for "chosen one" but it is not make them pointless to post here. If you can't meet the criteria for the deal it does't mean the deal is "cold" or it doesn't exists.

One thing more: I did't say to anyone that I will leave T-Mobile, a thought about it, but as a last thing when they will not give me something better than is on the website. Please then DON'T edit my post with FALSE informations.

Why not wait for the phone after those, or the ones after them. There's never a right time to by a mobile.

Not really a good deal when you can get it cheaper from mobiles.co.uk. Yes, it's not an 18 month contract, but it works out cheaper per month with far more minutes and texts.

T-Mobile
Web 600
(24 months)
600 Mins Any
Network Anytime + 500 Texts
+ Unlimited web browsing

Works out at £18.75 a month for 600 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited data. Oh, and the phone's free.

(8 months half price line rental, 14 months at £25 per month, £50 TCB cashback)

Go through TCB to mobiles.co.uk, then select the galaxy s. Click on T Mobile, then show all - it's about half way down the page.

Because that costs more, and only gives 1GB vs 3GB of bandwidth per month ?
#32
personally there would be zero difference to having 100 inclusive minutes versus a million, and if you go direct you get a booster too (free texts generally the best one for most)

are you sure it's not redemption? Looks like it to me.

Oh and I might have mentioned that costs more.

I'll grant there are of course other benefits depending on your plan - e.g. phone should be unlocked via mobiles.co.uk. But it's certainly not a no-brainer given the extra 6 months.
#33
I am a T-Mobile customer (on a SIM only contract after my 12-month contracted ended). Tried T-Mobile Direct and a high street store. Best deal I got was £30pm on a 2-year contract or a £40pm on a 18-month contract.
