Samsung Galaxy S II - 12m £20/m Contract - £489.99 total cost in-store at Carphone Warehouse

PaulLFCPaulLFC

Some very good deals on the Galaxy S II at the Carphone Warehouse - the one I chose was as follows:

Phone cost: £249.99
Monthly cost: £20
Contract length: 12 months
Minutes: 200
Texts: 1000
Data: Unlimited (which, according to the sales rep, is truly unlimited)
Network: Talk Mobile (they use Vodafone in a similar way Tesco Mobile uses O2)

There are other deals which scale up with higher monthly costs, so if you're looking for a contract which doesn't tie you in for 2 years this could be a good option

Nice, this would work out cheaper than the £400 from O2 and then using Giffgaff for 12 months...

got this deal 1 week ago, phone is fantasic, fast, very light, shame the back cover 'seems' like very cheap plastic. gotta say i personally think its better then the iphone 4.

If they do this deal on the LG Optimus 3D I might be tempted. If its on Talk Mobile, will it be a factory unlocked handset?

I would hope so, the iPhone 4 is well over a year old now! ;) Maybe Samsung should implement uni-body designs similar to HTC.

I don't think we are still meant to offer this to customers (I work at CPW). :/

Back cover is flimsy but once you've removed it once to put the battery and SD card in you don't notice it. Feels fine when its actually on the phone.

Is this a recent decision? I bought mine on Wednesday, also had confirmation from another two stores that they'd be offering the same deal. There's a very similar deal available on e2save as well, although the upfront cost of the phone is £60 higher.

      Yes.

Question, the link, is it the true spec of the deal as it does not mention talkmobile?

Reason being, is this the 16gb or 32gb model as I will want the 32gb one if possible?

It's an instore deal. And it's the 16gb version.

Yeah good deal, but, I took a contract out on Talk Mobile in April because they were offering the best deal for the LG O2X, and to be fair I wish I hadn't, the Vodafone 3G signal is shocking. I live in Birmingham and can't get 3G anywhere indoors, the outdoor coverage isn't much better! Coming from T-mobile where I got a full 3g signal everywhere I went its a bit of a nightmare. When/if Vodafone switch on 900mhz UMTS (3G) in the area it may get better, but just beware. A smartphone is pretty useless with only GPRS/EDGE apart from checking emails etc, which defeats the object really.
