About a week and a half ago this deal was £219 + £10 top up voucher. I missed it and I am still waiting for it to come back down to that price....hopefully soon. Won't vote hot or cold because I think it will go back down in price although this deal is still the cheapest way to get this phone.

As above, I paid £229 a couple of weeks ago, might be best price at the moment but I think people expect it to drop again. Not voted.
#4
Really (_;) voted cold i thought this was the best available deal out there! Comparing it to an expired deal is just a tad lame to be honest that deal is gone never coming back!!!

Voted cold.

Why is that lame? I don't feel £259 is a particularly good deal for this phone. Especially when it was much cheaper last week. The deal is very likely to happen again anyway.

You cannot be so sure it will never come back. Chances are the price will come down again and maybe (a big maybe!) break the sub-£200 price barrier.

The key word is maybe! i put this deal for people who might be interested in the now, chances are they might need a pretty good smartphone now. They might just be confronted by pontificating troll speculating on a price drop;)

It would be a good price if it hadn't recently been lower, thats what puts people off.

The deal was posted 2 weeks ago here:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-galaxy-s-payg-unlocked-mobiles-co-uk-cpw-for-219-10-top-up/947101/?page=8#post11440185

It then expired an got posted again here:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-galaxy-s-219-90-10-compulsary-top-up-from-mobiles-co-uk/952577?page=1

So what makes you so sure it can't come back ???

There may not be a better deal at the moment, but as it has been significantly cheaper twice within the last month, the product is not in short supply, and it is a deflationary product that lowers in price over time, then this is certainly not a hot deal.

If you want it now this may be the best price around, but that does not make it a hot deal. No one is going to look at outdated smart phone with known bugs now only £259 as being hot, especially when they could have purchased it £30 cheaper last week.

Outdated? Just because there are dual-core processors in the horizon, this phone is still very up-to-date. Unlike the HTC Desire, Samsung has come through with Gingerbread 2.3.3 officially and 2.3.4 is leaked and imminent. It has more RAM and internal memory than most other androids, still has a SAMOLED screen when most others are downgrading to LCD and TouchWiz had features that Gingerbread only just brings to the table. It also has intergrated SWYPE keyboard and TV-out and an excellent camera that shames HTC, Motorola and LG. So disagree with you there.

I was meaning outdated in the fact a new version was out. In 9 months time owning one may be similar to owning an Iphone 3GS now. You would be kicking yourself for not getting the Iphone 4 instead.

Its all about the price and value for money, yes the SG2 is out but its twice the price. If you wait for the SG2 to come down in 9 months the next quad core phone will probably be here.
This isn't a good price for this phone but its the best at the moment so im not voting either way.

As were the first three posts before your stroppy reply that people were voting the deal cold because it had been considerably cheaper a week before. Note: none of those first three posters had said they had voted cold, two said they had not voted and I did not say whether I had or not.
