Another Galaxy S2 deal. The phone needs no introduction. I'm still on the look out for one and this seems decent. 100mins and 500 texts a month.

£100 for the handset.
£20.50 a month for 18 months. = £369
Total = £469
£60 quidco = £409.
Then you could pay off the remainder of the contract at the start of month 3 when the quidco has gone through and not pay VAT. There would be £328 remaining on the contract, which means £60.50 is VAT, this makes the phone

Final total = £348.50.
Cheaper than buying it SIM free.

holding out for the NFC enabled S2, but this is a cracking deal

Sorry but I dont completely understand - if you want to pay off the contract in one go: a) does the company have to let you do it? and b) why wouldnt you pay VAT?

Thanks

Generally all mobile operators allow you to pay off your contract early if that is what you want. There was a time they didn't but I believe that OFCOM has something to do with this change of policy.

In terms of VAT; you only pay VAT on goods and services you have received. In terms of Line Rental, if you pay it off early you are no longer able to receive the service, thus VAT is not payable.

Ahh, so paying off early would mean you wouldnt get the service - i.e. your call minutes and texts - so effectively the contract would be cancelled? Good I suppose if you are looking for a cheap overall price for the phone as compared with buying it sim-free, however of course you would need to buy payg minutes/texts/data after that (?)

Its an awesome price for the handset, then you can use giff gaff and not be tied into a contract. best of both worlds

Not voted either way, the quidco and VAT deduction is risky and potentially might fall through.

seems like a great way to get what looks like the most highly specced phone out there, i wonder what will happen to the price when the Sensation comes out, are the HTC fanboys waiting for that ??
