I think what happens is Amazon.de (or .fr, .es, .it) ship the item internally to Amazon UK, who then dispatch it into the UK postal system. I've had this before with .fr-exclusive Blu-rays, where they arrive in UK packaging but the item isn't available over here.

bought it at the same price from amazon.es a few days ago and was shipped from the uk

This is probably one of the ways that amazon reduces the UK tax it has to pay isnt it?

not long now to the next gen handset. should see these drop in price significantly. also contracts with this phone don't cost that much more so could potentially be better value for others.

the below deal was posted the other day.HTH

Wait til Nexus 4 back in stock. Unless you really want an S3. Is this trolling? I'll add heat anyway as best current price for s3 :)

I'd be all over the nexus 4 if I could put an sd card in it :(

Remember folks, this is not the LTE model featured in some UK offers.

This one features 1GB RAM instead of 2GB and has no 4G support.

So did your handset include a 3 pin UK charger or 2 pin? Thanks

I'd settle for a 32GB nexus although if there was a 64 GB version on offer I'd probably go for that. All I want is a decent amount of storage and software updates for 2-3 years. I think my best bet at the moment is Samsung but I'm going to wait a couple for months for CES and MWC to see what other devices can tempt me and maybe by then there will be more concrete Galaxy S4 rumours. I just hope my Desire can hold out a few more months til it's 3rd birthday, i've just put jelly bean on it but the screen is a little small compared to modern hardware.

I would have agreed with you and own a 64GB micro sdhc. However, Google Music, personal and third party cloud storage, etc. means that the space really isn't needed any longer and I don't miss the space one bit. I've got 4.75GB free on my 16GB Nexus 4 and I've got plenty of storage hogs installed (Bard's Tale, NFS Most wanted). I do think the 8GB model is pushing it too far except for the most mumsy of users.

£420 at amazon.de, 400 can't be far off.

so did you caught the thieves

Unlocked to work on 3 network?

no the thief is still working for city-link and probably still thieving peoples phones, they know the packages the phones are sent out in, the security seal is a strip of wide sellotape that they just cut off then push out the side and pull the phone out then just push the cardboard back in place, then if you don't realize the sellotape is a security seal you just open it and have to try to explain that it's been stolen by city-link, i was only suspicious because the first one was stolen. i reported it to the police who i found reluctant to investigate it, only relenting when i kicked up a fuss.i am just trying to warn others that they are taking a risk until the thief is caught. and they are only looking for the thief because i made so many complaints the y seen i was not going to give up. the phone was the only thing my son wanted, he got other stuff but clearly was not the slightest bit interested, fiddling more with the empty boxes than anything else he got.

SII is perfect, as S3 reminds me of a ladies mirror/cosmetic something suitable for a handbag, it is too long.

I've known items to disappear from City Link deliveries before. Suppose that's what happens when you pay people minimum wage to handle parcels worth hundreds of pounds. They probably realise it's easy to get away with, and no paper trail to implicate them. Apparently a good game of "parcel football" isn't unknown.

Price vanished!

I had a similar incident with Sh**ty Link when I ordered a white s3 just before Christmas from Amazon UK. Went missing after it left Milton Keynes even though after spending 3 consecutive days on the phone and waiting in for it, they kept blatantly lying to me telling me it was out for delivery, then telling me they didn't get time to deliver it that day. Eventually got the truth from a helpful guy at the Sh**tty Link call centre that they didn't know where it was. After speaking to Amazon who refunded me no problem and offered to send a replacement but I refused and went elsewhere. The guy on the phone told me that they had, had many complaints on the system from customers where these phones were simply vanishing after the courier had collected them for delivery.
He escalated my complaint for higher management to look at and I told him I wouldn't be using Amazon again in the future for items that were likely to be delivered by this joke of a courier company until they got rid of them, but would still use them for less expensive Royal Mail delivered items.
