But it's an android which is worse.
However, I would never convince my wife that my Note is better than her iPhone. She likes simplistic and she is tied into the Apple brand and loyalty program. She is used to iPhones and iPads and anything else feels alien to her. She is frankly unwilling to give it a go, in the same way my son hates mushrooms despite never really trying them.
So, nobody will convince me that IOS within it's current guise can match Android, but I also understand why others may feel the opposite. Apart from the operating system, current top end Android phones are also much higher specified than the iPhone 5 and have much more useful (bigger) screens, but I concede that the iPhone feels better built. For anyone who says bigger screens are not better, why did Apple just increase the size to two gen old Android size? I think Apple have stopped inovating because they are tied too heavily to theirr existing customer base and are scared to change things. Android by contast attracts a much younger (dare I say geeky) audience that loves new features and change.
Android deals now get much hotter than Apple deals for two reasons.
i). Android phones are much better value.
ii). Top end Androids have much better specs.
Pretty soon the third reason will be:-
iii). Android being perceived as much cooler (which it already is amongst many young and technically switched-on people).
....I laugh inwardly at iPhone 5 wavers during my commute to work in the mornings:D.

I've dropped mine plenty and there's not a mark on it, even without a case or a screen protector. Admittedly not onto concrete but how hard is it to take a bit of care of your phone? Even when drunk.
Because this version is quad core? And cheaper...
Cheapest on the Orange site that I can see is £349 for the handset and then £10.50 a month for 24 months, which is £601.
