uber hot as its not a windows phone or iphone thank god.

But it's an android which is worse.
I think that comes down to personal taste. I own a 4S (work provided) and a Galaxy Note (personal). For me the Note trumps the iPhone within every single area apart from battery life, which may even be because I only use the iPhone to make calls. I love the flexability of the Note, the look, the screen size, widgets, the fact that I can store all of my music on SD card. For me Android is a million miles better than IOS, which has and over simplified and unflexable square icons + cannot change anything approach.

However, I would never convince my wife that my Note is better than her iPhone. She likes simplistic and she is tied into the Apple brand and loyalty program. She is used to iPhones and iPads and anything else feels alien to her. She is frankly unwilling to give it a go, in the same way my son hates mushrooms despite never really trying them.

So, nobody will convince me that IOS within it's current guise can match Android, but I also understand why others may feel the opposite. Apart from the operating system, current top end Android phones are also much higher specified than the iPhone 5 and have much more useful (bigger) screens, but I concede that the iPhone feels better built. For anyone who says bigger screens are not better, why did Apple just increase the size to two gen old Android size? I think Apple have stopped inovating because they are tied too heavily to theirr existing customer base and are scared to change things. Android by contast attracts a much younger (dare I say geeky) audience that loves new features and change.

Android deals now get much hotter than Apple deals for two reasons.
i). Android phones are much better value.
ii). Top end Androids have much better specs.

Pretty soon the third reason will be:-
iii). Android being perceived as much cooler (which it already is amongst many young and technically switched-on people).

....I laugh inwardly at iPhone 5 wavers during my commute to work in the mornings:D.

I've dropped mine plenty and there's not a mark on it, even without a case or a screen protector. Admittedly not onto concrete but how hard is it to take a bit of care of your phone? Even when drunk.

Cheapest on the Orange site that I can see is £349 for the handset and then £10.50 a month for 24 months, which is £601.

£50 more for 4g ver

4G isn't here yet; and when it is you will pay extra for it. A LOT extra, nothing comes free in Rip Off britain.

Or save yourself £100 and get the Quad Core Tegra 3 LG 4x HD with 2100mAh battery from Expansys. I did when I wanted to upgrade from my Galaxy S2. Great phone. http://www.expansys.com/lg-optimus-4x-p880-black-eu-plug+uk-adapter-233994/

The LG 4X HD is. :)

Good price from a national retailer although prices will ease further with 4G on the horizon. Those forking out an extra £50 for the 4G version will probably get the money back when in comes to selling in 18 months or so's time. By then the 4G service should be on its way to becoming the norm.
#31
Even if you wait and just use 3g anyway at least with the lte your ready for 4G and I would suspect you'll easily get your £50 back in resale value and more

It doesnt make a difference that its quad core....!! The RAM is difference so they will effectively run at the same speeds.... just shows how much the cores matter!!! There have been various speed tests between the USA version (LTE) and the UK version (not LTE) and they were the same speeds.
#33
Cold... the 4G version is out soon for just abit more. Why buy this now when you can future proof your phone with 4G that will be rolled out next year over ALL networks. Once all networks will have 4G it will be way more competitive with price plans.

The only downside will be coverage.

I want one but am gonna stick with my s2 unless the price really comes down

Erm I'm pretty sure the LTE is dual core. (It's quad band for the network, but dual core processor)

That's just plain misinformation. The speed tests between the two are only similar for network orientated tasks. The quad core is faster for processor intensive tasks.

I'm not against the LTE just think the facts should be set straight. But my tuppence worth is that it makes no sense to pay any extra now for somethingthat we don't know how it will be implemented in the future. We know 4G is coming to the UK but with the greedy networks /exclusivity etc it doesn't make sense to pay more now. There will be plenty of opportunites to fork out more to the networks when 4G arrives I'm sure. By the time all the networks offer 4G and the prices become reasonable you will probably be due for a new phone anyways the way smartphone tech is moving...

The S3 is a fantastic phone. Loved the screen size and quality. I bought one six weeks ago and have just swapped it for my son's S2. I really tried to live with it but i found it a bit too big for day to day use. The S2's size and weight is perfect for me. I suppose that's why samsung are about to announce the 'S3 mini'.

The lte is quad core.. I've got one

That guy who posted a link to some american nutter dropping and then blowing up a S3 should have checked out their other videos. They also dropped a iphone 5 and that also broke its screen.
