I always warn people, stay clear from t mobile, they are the worst network going. They made several mistakes on my account and then refused to acknowledge them. When I won my case through ombudsmen they accepted to pay up but never actually did.

Customer service is the worst. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Totaly agree, T-MOBILE started charging me before I even got the phone, retured it with unused sim card, still waiting for it to be sorted.

I just got my first bill today....the deal it appears isn't £11.99 a month as that price excluded tax - I wasn't aware of this as I ordered over the phone and they failed to mention it. It will work out at around £14.40 a month...plus they're charging £1.28 extra to send me a bill every month (I didn't request this - they decided to add these extras and charge on their own initiative). My bill is £17.16 and will be as a minimum every month if I don't make any calls etc out of my allowance. If there's something that can be done please let me know because I didn't plan on paying this much. Works out an extra £120.00 over the contract term.
Don't worry - mine is the same. It's because you are being charged for a month in advance (my on-line bill is showing 19 Dec - 18 Jan @ £9.99), plus a part month (10 days @ £3.66) PLUS VAT.
But, after this first bill, you should find that your TOTAL monthly bill is £11,99 (INC VAT)
They are sneaky by adding on itemised billing or something, just call 150 and ask for this to be removed.
Simples!

Thanks for that...I'll wait till next month's bill and see what happens - need to get the itemised billing cancelled soon though so will ring the number you gave.

Its worth checking your bill if you went down the T-mobile upgrade route for this.
They have charged me £8.51 for a "replacement smartcard". I assume they were referring to the nano sim which CPW provided. They also required me to phone an 0845 number to activate the nano sim. That call cost £6.67. Obviously I've complained and got refund for both of these, but it does annoy me that they tried to slip in extra charges.
