You don't need to give notice.
The phone has to be connected for 24 hours if it's locked before you can request unlock code. So 1 day line rental.
Nice deal. Heat

Surely the Vodafone Black Friday deal on this phone was a better deal? Free phone on 22.50 p/m with 500gb, 600 mins & u ltd txt,. Just under 270 for first year with voice, data, txt package!

All the deals have a phone element for £10 and an airtime component which variable. But as you will cancel the airtime you are left just paying the £10 per month for the phone ie 24 x 10 =240 (plus the upfront cost)

wow 500gb data for £22.50/month?!

There`s no £10 a month tariff!!

The £23 tariff has a 'device tariff' of £10 so that is what you pay off when you cancel the airtime tariff which is the remainder so £13 per month.
So the phone costs (24 x 10) + £30 upfront cost = £270.

Calm down, just a tongue in cheek post because I see a lot of people signing up and making comments like that, no offence intended. :D

The internet is an odd place so try not to take everything too seriously. :p

Make sure you pay off the device cost straightaway when you buy it on the site.

When you get the phone and you need to unlock it do that first using this form. Then ring up 02 on preferably a different phone 0344 8090202 and state you want to cancel the air time. You may get a bill for 1-2 days pro rata use so £1-2 but worth mentioning you never used the phone or inserted the sim and just cancel your direct debit on your side to make sure they don't "accidentally" charge you.

Same deal was posted 2 weeks ago @ S5 02 Refresh and there were a few people who had issues with the deal i.e. less than satisfactory handset, still getting charge tariff etc.

Hi. This deal was posted before and thank you.

My experience was very smooth. I was asked to connect and send a text but thought that strange as my network should not determine the basic phone set up.

I made a request online for the unlocking code. Did not take sim out of packet.

I unlocked the phone and then just called up and paid off for the phone and cancelled the context for line rental.

Got email confirming the same.

Total paid £269.

The phone is an excellent device and has the warranty for two years.

Don't even think you needed to justify his comment with a reply, it's the kind of first post that should get you banned and you were right for calling him out on it...

How do you pay off in full? The only option I can see is to pay 29.99 up front and the rest is taken monthly...

You miss the point. The black Friday deal got you the same phone on a decent entry level package whereas this deal is for the phone with zero calls, data, txt allowance!. If you want more data then you gotta pay for it.....

There's either an option during the signup process or you pay it on your account once you've signed up afaik sorry. Someone else might be able to help clarify.
#34
You ring them up as soon as you receive phone.
#35
Hi, i just called up and cancelled today. The guy I spoke to said I would receive a bill after 14 days and I would need to claim any allowance back since I've not even used the aim. Is this the case for others?
#36
Yes.
They charge a month in advance.
Reclaim it after final bill
#37
Oh, i see. Thanks for your reply
#38
quick question, can you cancel the airtime and pay off the device plan on any of the available phones. or is it limited?
#39
Any ....as long as it is a refresh tariff
#40
... or alternatively, you can buy it brand new and unlocked here : http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=cyber-gate&_armrs=1&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xs5+mini+4g&_nkw=s5+mini+4g&_sacat=0 for £229.99 ...

Sorry I just noticed that this post is for the S5,not the S5 mini I have posted here ... Still a great price for the S5 Mini though ...
