I know we can get rather bored with these special mobile deals especially those sceptical amongst you who consider the redemption deals as dodgy.
The fact is, only 30% of redemption claims are successful - and the massive proportion of those are due to the fact people forget, or fail to read simple instructions. The remaining failures are the use of less reputable companies.
this one is with E2save (part of car phone warehouse) and I can verify I am now on my 6th phone with 100% claim record.
This particular deal is excellent, eeven without the redemption claim which is why I am bothing to post it.
You get the excellent Samsung Galaxy Ace (smaller Galaxy S)
You get 300 minutes
You get 1000 texts
You get true unlimited Data (but over use may result in implementation of a fair use cap)
You get the handset free
The price is £18 per month for 24 months
The redemption gets you 11 months free by 5 claims of £39 reducing the average cost to £9.75 / month
The network is Talk Mobile - this is a virtual network owned by CPW and uses Vodafone network. I have confirmed with Vodafone that there is no difference between the service you get from Vodafone direct and Talk Mobile (if the network is overloaded, Vodafone customers get priority though)
I have just ordered one! Ideal for my son

Bonus: Phone is NOT locked to any network

Plus possible:
£46 Quidco
£43.43 TCB
- Red Devil PJB

E2Save are the worst mobile outlet I have ever done business with and I have been with a few. They are a scam. I had faulty mobile after faulty mobile and even when I had a working one it didn't last long and still had a minor fault that I never reported. If you do go with them don't be a day late on the redemption as they will not pay out...

Fully agree, my husband had a bad time with these people and tbh its not worth the hassle. Customer Services can be very patronising and will not help if things go pear shaped :(

That is true of all these schemes. They rely on the fact that many people cannot be arsed to comply with the conditions, either through disorganisation or laziness. If you are a person that gets through life making excuses and asking for special consideration, then don't get involved with redemption deals. The conditions are not difficult, but they are inflexible. The companies hope you will fail to comply so they don't have to pay. This isn't middle school, this is life.

That said, I have two contracts running where my costs are entirely paid by redemption plus the initial TopCashback referral fees. I comply with the redemption conditions, which allow me two months to present the required bills, by post or online (why be late?) and they send the cheques.

I totally agree with you LongPockets. I have never had anyy problems with e2save or any of the other cashback offers - you have to be organised and do what it says in the contracts. I have always had all my money back.

I personally have never had any problem with redemption deals, i always keep my bills in the same place and set reminders on my nice new phone to tell me when to post the bills etc.

will this phone getting the 2.3 update?

a good deal , although all comments above ring true, there is no leeway at all with these redemptions, there are so many variables that can go wrong , royal mail , your phone bill not being recieved and the list can go on and on , on a whole while these schemes work , sometimes more hassle then they are worth though.

I bought a phone from mobiles.co.uk (part of the same group) and although it took a while from sending the bill to receiving the cheques (and with a bit of phone call pushing) I did get everything that was owed in cashback. I was however very prompt in emailing the bills and keeping a record of this and the reply emails to confirm receipt etc.

As long as you can be strict with yourself and the redemptions process it's a hot deal.

I've had around a dozen payg mobiles - new & refurbs - from e2save, and not a single problem. Most of my Quidco has been paid too - but not quite all.

Hot!

Plus possible £46 quidco

That's ridiculous - or you're the most unlucky person ever.
How can you say they're a scam? A faulty mobile is not a retailers fault - try hitting at the manufacturer!
I can categorically states I am now on my 6th phone from them and have had every single payment redeemed. You have 60 days to submit your correct bill - so if you're late for that more fool you! I'd recommend recorded delivery too. Even if you can't be bothered to make the claims, this is an outstanding price for the contract inclusives.
If anyone has any concerns over responses such as the above, feel free to PM me a I have considerable experience with e2save.co.uk and mobiles.co.uk (both part of CPW).
I would not have posted this deal if I hadn't been confident

If your husband didn't get his cashback - it will be because he got it wrong (or you are going back to a different era. Office of fair trading have pretty much dealt with the rogue dealers).

Let's not forget that even at £18/month this is a stonking deal - a friend was 'conned' last week into taking a £32/month contract with this phone at Phones4U, and that was after trading in his mint condition iPhone 3G!

Very tempted to give up the San Fran for this.... Hot!

Edit: Just playing around with the site - adds insurance and 'gadget helpline' to your basket automatically - remember to cancel that.

So you have to only claim 5 times for the redemption monies? Or do you have to be sending bills back for the whole 24 months?

I really like the sound of this deal if it is maintenance free + quidco :)

I can confirm, there are 5 claims starting at 6 months and then every 3 months from there.
No other maintenance but as Macleodmac has correctly pointed out, remember phone insurance and gadget helpline are added by default and you need to cancel those within first 2 weeks to ensure you're not charged for them. No other admin at all.
SIM is live from next day, and phone is NOT locked to any network (bonus!!)

Not true. You have 60 days from the bill date (more than reasonable) and if you sent it by recorded as suggested, they will pay up even if it is lost.

You send 5 bills back. First one is the 6th bill and then every 3 months after that until you've submitted 5. They even tell you which bills to send so unless you're a determined fool, you can't go wrong.
