When i was looking for a Android tablet before i got the acer iconia i looked at these and i can tell you straight that these are always this price and the fact that they are refubs and off eBay should warn you to stay well away because if they go wrong, which they more than likely will as you dont know where they where refurbished and who by, you will have a lot of problems getting it sorted and after 30days Paypal wont help so you will be on your own.

Cold im afraid when you can get a new Xoom or icona for the same or less and neither have the issues of the Samsung tablet.
#4
what issues?
#5
45 days for a PayPal dispute ;) and any issues are covered by a 90-day warranty so if anything goes wrong its straight back to the retailer

I agree
Always jubious about buying a big purchase and or electrical refurbs of Ebay never no where you stand regarding warrantys etc, The seller can always shut up shop and become another seller in a different name.

the 32GB at £315 is a better deal IMO. I got one of these a couple of weeks back from DigiGood and have been very impressed with it (I also have a 7" Galaxy Tab).

The fact that it comes from the US doesn't make the blindest bit of difference.

:)

Still way too steep

what issues?

Quite a few if you bother looking.

Take the Amazon reviews with a *big* pinch of salt. I am active on the Galaxy Tab forums and have never heard of any of these problems!!

I take your comments with a pinch of a salt. How can you be so active on those forums and never heard those problems before. The only way that is possible is if samsung are removing posts regarding any issues with the tab.

I have had one for a while now, and never had any issues. Its gets used more than my laptop now. Like all tech, there is a percentage of the production that will fail. Happens with everything, including these tabs

http://www.thegalaxytabforum.com ....... nothing to do with Samsung.

:)

" I have had one for a while now,"

Hmm ...... when were they launched?

Oh, and read Digigood's feedback about selling US spec stuff and gear that doesn't work. No thanks.

I had contemplated getting one of these. Play it for a while and then decide whether to keep it or trade it into CEX for £230. In that way i would only be losing £40 i didnt like it.

In the end up it was the warranty that decided me against it. Got a very good deal on a G Tab 8.9 3G and i am more than happy with it :)

Very good tablet, but (as others) put off by the 90 day warranty.

There is no samsung UK warranty with this! If you get the oil slick problem you are stuck!

Might be a little cheap - but with no warranty its simply isn't worth it!

Xoom has more memory, a USB OTG port (without needing a silly adapter), MicroSD slot and mini HDMI out. And it's similar priced to this - and better IMO.

Is Brighton classified as part of the UK then?:p

I have went a bit tablet crazy and now own the iPad 2, xoom and the 10.1. In my opinion, without question the 10.1 is the best of the three. Voting hot although I do think the warranty concerns are valid.

imo this tab is by far the best looking out of all the tabs out there. However, I was shocked when I was about to buy one that it doesnt have any outputs (usb, hdmi etc) nor any storage slots (SD). Both the ASUS transformer and Motorola Xoom (and Iconia for that matter) all have these which is what is currently swaying my decision. It's a shame as the samsung is supposed to be great.

I still don't like the prices of these things though and i'm looking to pay £250 for one, but not anymore.

I've actually had my eye on his listings for these tablets for a number of weeks and I have even contacted 10 of his buyers.

All of them replied to me, saying at first they had the same anxieties purchasing from eBay from him but the tablet arrived very quickly, in a sealed box which didn't look like a refurb and the tablet has performed perfectly. All of the buyers I spoke to were more than happy, especially saving £120 on the RRP

As for the short warranty, if the worst happened I'd claim on my home insurance, still cheaper than buying one at full RRP

Can you tell me why you think the 10.1 is better than ipad2? not trying to do an apple is best thing, I am in the market for a tablet... had hoped that Amazon were about to release the mother of all tablets but this didnt happen so have almost settled on ipad2....so any advice/views welcome

I bought the white 16gb tab 10.1 from digigood on 10.10.11. For my parents. It was in perfect condition and delivered on the next working day. The only annoying thing was the charger which has an american plug attachment. The charger for the tab is actually officially called a 'travel adapter' and consists of a custom usb data cable and a two piece plug. One part of the plug converts mains to 5v and accepts 110 and 240v input, the other part is a clip in localised section for us/uk/eu sockets. The strange thing is Samsung do not sell afaik the separate localised part either with the adapter or on their own. So you have to use a shaver adapter (supplied by digigood) to charge it. Also you cannot plug the usb cable into a htc style mains to usb socket adapter because the tab needs the full 2A to charge. With regards to the 'oil slick' problem, hopefully that is the reason these were returned in the first place, and the problem has been resolved.

dont bother just get an Ipad 2

NEVER buy a refurb from ebay.

If samsung were selling this directly I would think about it
#35
My parents use gmail and picasa, basically the suite of google applications which is integrated in the tab. I got an android pad for this reason. They can do google video chat to any pc running gmail in a browser with the video plugin. (Basically apple facetime). Admittedly the interface on the tab is nowhere near as smooth as the ipad2, but the camera on the ipad2 is very dissapointing.

You can charge the Tab with an (1A) HTC phone adapter, I do it regularly and it is the only charger I use when travelling, it just doesn't charge up as quickly but this isn't a problem charging overnight.

Does it not show the little 'x' over the battery ? Or is that just to indicate non optimal charging ?

*Yawn* How droll

On another note, I think I worked out Quidco could be in the region of £11 too as long as it tracks

ive got the Acer iconia a500 and i think its a great bit of kit. BUT i dont think android is on a par with the iPad OS at all yet. Android is great but its still clunky and rough around the edges...and no i dont own a single Apple product...

I always power the Tabs off before I recharge them.
