I was just about to buy the 7" one this morning for my wife for Christmas. Thank god I looked on here before I did.

I've now got the 10" one ordered, with hopefully a surprised wife getting 3 extra inches Christmas morning! (_;)

    Heat added.

So a brand new Samsung for £145 or a second hand two gen old iPad for £259. Tough decision.

Who said Flash doesn't work on these?. I used it to clean my screen and it's come up lovely, albeit a bit scratched in places.

Just picked one up from Currys at Gateshead Metrocentre. They price matched no problem and beat it by 10% of the difference so got it for £190.70. There was also a Samsung display in the shopping centre itself with an array of Samsung Tablets and Phones on display. There was also a £50 cashback sign listing which products are eligible which included this tablet. It clearly stated ALL purchases must be made by midnight 31/12/2012. Even the Samsung employees I asked about it confirmed it is STILL valid and ALL cashbacks WILL be honoured. Also, the cashback claim can be done on line. These weren't Currys, John Lewis or CPW employees. These were SAMSUNG EMPLOYEES. They should know.

    Here is the link. Again.

i very much doubt the £50 Samsung cashback will go through after this … i very much doubt the £50 Samsung cashback will go through after this discount but no harm in trying

Why not? It clearly states that if the buyer purchases a tablet / note etc from end of october to end of december and return their claim forms at the correct time then the cashback will be honoured. The Retail price is nothing to do with Samsung, they are offering the cashback regardless of how much you have paid for your product, as long as it is brand new from a reputable UK seller

PLEASE stop expiring this deal guys!

I fully understand and appreciate the annoyance of those who would like to reserve this but are finding that there is no stock in their locality. However, there IS stock available in certain stores, (there are 3 stores near me with stock (Newcastle upon Tyne)), so PLEASE STOP clicking expired! It is NOT expired it IS still available, granted not to all, but it most definitely IS available. This deal could be of benefit to many members but if it's not in the 'Hottest' list and/or is expired, many will miss it. I'd be surprised if it doesn't go out of stock at some point today but while there's stock it should remain in the Hottest list.

    Thank you.

The Samsung employee says they have,FACT You are obviously not that smart,FACT .. As a consequence of my own enquiries I will buy without expecting a cash back, FACT

Let us be sensible here - yes they can withdraw the offer at any time without notice per their terms and conditions. This is a standard legal term to protect the company in case it is required.

The issue here is that the offer is still on their website so if you buy now, then the offer is live at the time of purchase - therefore your cash back claim would be valid as the offer was live at the time of your purchase. This would be the legal view on this as you bought before it was withdrawn so you bought when the offer was valid. They would lose in court if they tried to revoke an offer back dated, this is basic law. Otherwise can you image all the companies who would go back on offers. Think about it.

These are the facts as I see them , and from a legal point of view I am confident in that.

Looks like a bunch of school dropouts have invaded this thread by creating a scare that cashback is not available. I am sure Samsung will honour it as most likely they are clearing the stock for a new model.
  14. n3m3s1s's avatar
All of this concern because of:

a first post from a NEW MEMBER -( Greatburdon) - a member of less than 6 hours - happened to be talking to a bloke in a Tesco who just happens to be a Samsung Rep and just happens to know that Samsung will go back on their published promotion because CPW have a HotDeal on at the mo'.

THEN another NEW MEMBER ( Shay2012) - also a member of 6 hours happens to know an IRISH bloke who happens to be told by someone in Tesco that the Samsung puplished Cashback is off - so Tesco give him 50 quid.

Sounds like some PRANKER to me

Ignore the trolls about not being able to claim it back, it's not going to be an issue as long as you read the terms and stick to the rules, this is one you should be wary of, mainly because there is a chance that wife buys it husband claims (or vice versa) (or partners of same/opposite sex relationships) (or present for a friend, family member) etc etc etc...

The cashback will only be validated and paid if the individual or company named on the proof of purchase supplied matches the bank account details provided. Failure to provide matching details will result in email notification offering the opportunity to provide the required details within 7 days. If the participant still fails to comply with the terms and conditions, the claim for cashback will be marked as invalid.

About that Samsung cashback, so you don't get caught out...If you have … About that Samsung cashback, so you don't get caught out...If you have yet to buy the tablet then you will CERTAINLY NOT qualify. Here is why:"Claims must be made within 15 – 60 days from the date of purchase and within the dates of the promotion as set out in the full terms and conditions. For the avoidance of doubt the date of purchase on the invoice or receipt counts as day 1. Claims received outside this period will be marked as invalid and will not be entered into the promotion". If you buy on the 17th onwards, you will fall out of that strict 15-60 day window (Last date to claim 31st of Dec). They are very very strict so don't get caught out.

Pls re-read! Last PURCHASE date is 31st DEC, u can claim until sometime in Feb!

It is not looking promising for puchases made this weekend.I ordered one from amazon Friday evening that is on back-order for a couple of days. Will be interesting to see exactly what the cut off date is. Presumably Samsung will confirm that at some point tomrrow.

Already said this but here we go again. THEY ALWAYS DO THIS WITH CASHBACK OFFERS.

They remove the Point of sale information advertising when its comming towards the end of the offer so as not to confuse shoppers and staff (and to reduce the number of people claiming)

I got a Panasonic breadmaker and a canon camera from amazon last christmas. Both had cashback offers, all the information promoting them was removed a couple of weeks before it ended just like has happened with this.

Guess what - I still got my cashback, for both items in a timely fashion.

People most be stupid or ignorant, you can make your own choice. The T&C clearly state if you buy a tablet at a participating retailer before 31st December and claim within the allowed time and follow the rules you get the cashback.

Read the cashback rules on the link provided. Cash back is never a dead cert anyway its a bonus so buyer beware.

People waiting for the sales or for nailed on confirmation of the cashback are just going to miss out. They are obviously clearing stock this is a stupid giveway price. Tab 3 in the first quarter next year ? Probably.

You have to root it Derby_Lad. However, it really is fairly simple. I have however done rooting/rom flashing in the past so was aware of some of the steps. It was plain sailing.

If you follow the guides below you can't go far wrong... the guy's speed of speech and accent are a little difficult to follow at times but as I said, I'm aware of the terms, if you're not, you may struggle to recognise exactly what he is saying. Just make sure you watch the video a couple of times and then when you are ready to begin, use the video again as a step by step guide, pausing it as you are going through each of the steps.

I'm chuffed to bits with how mines looking and operating now. Haven't found a single thing not working.

First step: Clockwork Recovery. How to get Clockwork Recovery + Root.

Second Step: Cyanogenmod Jelly Bean How to flash your P1000 Tab to Jelly Bean.

Hope that helps. If you need more info you can post back here and/or go over to Modaco/Cyanogenmod etc to get help. I'm no expert but will help if I can.

Good luck. If all works as it should, you'll love it I'm sure.

EDIT: You might want to download and install Titanium Backup first in order to back up your apps. Then reinstall it once you have Jelly Bean and use it to reinstall the apps. They will be on your sd card (if you've backed them up with Titanium).

Samsung do not do the Cashback a company process it if they deny your claim for any reason you can cry and go blue nothing will happen you think a company as big as samsung dont have lawyers go ask apple Cashback should be considered an extra benefit if you dont get it get mad then move on but fact is it is not guarenteed if you make out like it is then you will end up losing money simple i suggest most people buy if they want it at the price they see Just like quidco is not guarenteed why would this be ?

Quidco is a different kettle of fish and if an application is made exactly as the rules state, baring the company going bust, you will get paid out. But if you don't, you can go after your CC company or CPW for false advertising.

In short, no one will be buying one without the cashback unless the buyer cocks up.

This cashback business is quite funny to read....personally im not bothered if i do or dont get it but i will try. Let me just throw this principle into the mix.

'it is Samsung who provide the casback or via an external operator. So they are stating that they should give cashback on 4 products THEY make. Now correct me if im wrong but regardless of price( because they don't dictate the price the retailer sells it at) the whole point is for a Samsung to sell as many as possible cashback or not to make money from them. The cashback would have been factored into the selling price somewhere so what people on here are saying that just because loads are now being sold by One retailer they are not going to honour the deal. Samsung already know how many have been sold( i.e bought wholesale by retailers) and what level of cashback response they should be expecting....

Some people think that the money paid at the till goes to Samsung but it does'nt, Samsung already have there money...simple business. So what people are implying is its not in Samsungs interests to sell THEIR product...everyones a lawyer or business analyst on here but lets just keep it simple.

The lady at Tesco Direct advised me that the cashbacks should be ok but the retailers have been asked not to advertise them as it appears that the take up has been far in excess of expectations. They are not even allowed to mention or make anybody else aware of the cashback offer.
