Ordered one for my gorgeous 6 week old baby. I just hope she likes this as much as the iPad 3 she's been laying on for the past hour. Hmmm maybe I should have bought her a Nexus instead. Nothing is too good for my princess.

I've just done this so thought I'd try and help others through it...

    Guide to claiming cashback....

First of all you'll need a scan of your invoice either in jpeg or pdf format under 2MB in size.

Then go to samsungbacktocollege.com/pag…ing on click on the right link depending on when you bought your tab.

    step 1-2 self explanatory

step 3 need your invoice number (mine started with 1799xxxxx) date of purchase and retailer (I selected other for carphone warehouse)

step 4 need your serial number which is on the box and on your invoice (mine was RF2CA00xxxx)

    and product purchased -

    GT-P3110TSABTU - 8GB, silver
    GT-P3110TSEBTU - 16GB, silver
    GT-P3110ZWABTU - 8GB, white
    GT-P3110ZWEBTU - 16GB, white

You can add multiple serial numbers for each one you bought if more than one (up to 10 I think). When finished click next.

    Step 5 upload your image

Steps 6 - 10 your address and bank details etc.

    Hope this helps someone.

It's not "Literally" garbage. That would be... some garbage....

Looks like a fairly close call to me, but I think the Nexus will get my money .

About two centimeters wide. I doubt anything larger would fit the slot.

Great price, but I already got a playbook. And much as I like the playbook OS, and hate the lack of apps the 1 thing I dislike most is the 7inch screen size. I think the Ipad mini is probably the smallest I could buy again, just put android 4.2 on it and reduce it in price by £100+ and then I will replace my Playbook.

Front-facing camera is only VGA resolution (good enough for skype and most things)
No LED flash for primary camera (others don't even have a primary camera at the back)
Has a non-replaceable battery (all tablets don't have this feature)
Uses a proprietary 30-pin connector port for charging and connectivity (genuine ones cost £2.99 on ebay)
One of the lowest-capacity batteries in the range (dual core processor and lower res screen needs less power)
No USB charging (it DOES charge via USB even if it shows it doesn't but it's slow due to battery capacity)

Have both in this house, Nexus 7 and GT2 7".

All depends on your cash and needs really.

The price difference is pretty decent with the samsung cashback. Nexus is slicker, tab looks laggy in comparison but other people who use both dont care. GT has back camera and SD so is better for those fantastic cat pics and if you intend using a lot of media. GT only has 8GB with 5gb(? of the top of my head) free and you cant move most apps to the EXT SD unless you root. Nexus has awful chrome broswer, GT has much better stock broswer. GT supports flash via play store, nexus doesnt officially support but can be side loaded (i assume still the case).

Personally I think the GT at this price + cash back is a massive deal, if you have spare cash the nexus is better specced up and is the better overall tablet.

and if like me your thinking what the hecks a remote blaster function? … and if like me your thinking what the hecks a remote blaster function? :pAn infrared blaster (or IR blaster) is a device that emulates an infrared remote control to autonomously control a device that is normally controlled only by remote control key presses. The most common use of an IR blaster is to allow a recording device such as a DVR or VCR to change the channel on an external tuner such as a cable box or satellite receiver. This way, the recording device can automatically select the correct channel to record before starting the recording process. Another common use is to extend infrared signals in order to place remote controlled products behind closed doors.

Its like the old saying, if you have to ask what it is - you probably don't need it, but for those who need it, this aint got it

Verdict: The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch may not be the sleekest tablet but it packs the latest version of Android, known as Ice Cream Sandwich. It doesn't offer much in the way of power but it can handle the basics and is portable enough to slide into your pocket.

If you knew anything about decent specs you would agree with me.Unbelievable how this has got 2,300 degrees of heat seriously. Sometimes i do not understand some idiots on this site.

It's at 2300 degrees cause it's value for money, if specs is all it is, the only thing that deserves the heat is a Nexus 10?

State a tablet which has better value at this price? Acer A110 sells for 130 pounds after 50 pound cashback and Nexus 7 16gb sells for 159pounds.. For many ppl, saving those few ten pounds means a lot to them especially when they're just casual tablet users who don't need a high performing device.

And don't start mentioning about Chinese tablets, I doubt you can get proper after sales support for those.

Didn't know you can't store apps on the card?

The larger apps will be able to either manually move to the SD card or Android will do it for you.
The smaller ones (<15mb) and widgets/system apps will remain on the onboard flash.
