He's basically letting his money rest in the sellers account and hoping it comes back. Let's hope the seller isn't Father Ted.

Q: Is this an actual Samsung tablet??
A: I am sorry, my account was hacked, I did not list these
#19
Only worth £4.99 though
#20
How are people still falling for this, obvious it was a hacked account even without the question.

Actually I would bet it was. That's exactly what ebay scammers do when they hack an account, list a quantity of stupidly cheap items for quick sale then they disappear

A seller with that amount of feedback who been hacked? either he's been stupid and therefore deserves it or he's fibbing

I can't see how much feedback they have, both links are dead now. Assuming they have a lot though why would they jeopardise that for a bunch of £5 transactions that they clearly cant fulfil and they can't do a runner with the money if they're a big seller as they will of course be verified with PayPal and eBay. Also having a lot of feedback (ie. experience) may make one less likely to be hacked by phishing sites etc, however it does not make you impervious and it actually makes you a bigger target as your account will have extremely high or entirely lifted selling restrictions. Also, it requires the seller to actively educate themselves on account security and maintain a decent standard of it, which is not always the case.

so you "hack" an ebay account to what sell cheap items, which would then get removed - how does that profit the scammers ..

the money gets paid by paypal into their dodgy account which they likely then buy bitcoins or similar with. i don't actually know for sure as i'm not actually a "hacker" ...why the speech marks btw? sure phishing etc is like script kiddie level "hacking" but the speech marks are a bit much, a hacked account is a common phrase even if it is a misnomer to some degree
