The RRP quoted is woefully overpriced. Going rate is about right for this at the moment.

Hmmm, lots of offers on the Galaxy Tab, and the iPad 2 rumoured to be announced in the next 2-3 weeks.. Coincidence...?
Oh, and the new Tablet-friendly version of Android coming soon aswell !

The Tab's are excellent, this is a fab deal, but stick around. It's price will crash very very soon...

Even cheaper now. £341.24!

Good luck Samsung selling these, even at £300! :D

Typing from my Tab.

If you have one or thinking of it, install the new browser from the Notion Ink.
It is imho the best browser on a mobile device :)

But wouldn't it be worth paying the extra for an iPad?
When someone sees this on my table they'd be like

" cool you have an iPad " then look closer " oh ...it's a samsung "
#14
exactly the same price in Tesco, repeated post - very cold

Yeah, not enough price differential from an iPad. I'll get an android tablet when a decent one is closer to £200.
#16
They're stretching it a bit with that RRP. Even before it was released, it was never that high
#17
I'd wait for an Android 3.0 ("Honeycomb") - official launch 2 Feb, bargains 3-6 months later; far, far superior, and with luck, the competition will bring prices down too.
#18
Who on earth will pay RRP mentioned for this device. Totally ridiculous.

Can someone explain why a they would want a tablet rather than a cheaper more functional netbook?
Apart from tablets being trendy I cannot see any adavantage.
I borrowed a tablet for a day and it was the most awkward device ever, no wonder they never caught on till apple made them fashionable.

RRP is a wish price on everything as far as I'm concerned. I dont see many people on here paying list price or RRP for anything. I certainly dont.

Beats ipad hands down. Why buy a tablet that restricts what you can do.

What's it called? Available from the Market? Cheers

New here so hope I'm not being ridiculous, have a look at best buy.co.uk , they're doing it with extra 16gb card with 3g for £359 free delivery. Apologies if I've made any errors, cheers

The RRP must be wrong I think when it came out it was more around £500. Either way it has come down a lot in price.

I wonder whether this is better than the Iphone 4? People seems to be comparing this with the Ipad. Surely this is more like a big Iphone and a smaller Ipad.

But at this rate in 6 month's time this phone will be under £200 and in a year maybe under £100. I found this is the most annoying thing about buying any phone other than the Iphone. At least by the time the Iphone 5 comes out the 4 probably still sells for over 70% of its value.

It's not a phone it's a tablet! Granted you can make calls with it but who would want a phone with a 7" screen!

They've sold 2 million......

The reason for the price drop on these tablets is because the Samsung Galaxy tab 2 is due to be announced at World Mobile Congress in 15 days.

Good bit of kit, but made even better if you know how to mod android. An Advent Vega is a better android tablet
