In the end I'll get my cashback but in hindsight I'd have saved myself a lot of grief by just buying a smartphone on ebay and going with a £5/month package with Tesco or whoever.

The number of MP has very little to do with the quality of the picture, it is more about the quality of the optics, lens and firmware. That's not to say this isn't a rubbish camera, just that you can't put it down to a single number in the spec sheet.
From completely hating it, she has come around and has become rather savvy, with the use of the phones many features.
Navigation, Music , Radio, Internet facilities......
I think good starter android phone, once experienced I guess you'd want something more powerful.

If its a quality issue then I probably wouldn't be shopping at the bottom end of the market.

So true. Do people really buy a phone for the camera?
My 3.2 megapixel camera produces better pictures than my old 5 megapixel phone. Quality of the lens makes the difference.
