I have been eyeing up this phone and thought it was good value for £99 in 02, as it seems really good looking and fun for the price.

Saw it today in Vodafone instore for an introductory price of £63 (plus £10 top up taking it to £73) - was sorely tempted but glad I waited as online it is:
- £63 with no top up required.
- 10% discount using PAYG10 code taking the price DELIVERED down to £56.70
- Eventually £5 back if you buy through Quidco, taking the final price down to £51.70!..

As this phone is £99 everywhere (and not expensive at that) this is a great buy. I'm thinking of getting another one (in pink) to put by for my neice for christmas!

Nice large 2.8inch screen :)

When I was posting it said there was a duplicate, but the duplicate suggests the price before quidco is £63, not £56.70 - so thats why I added it. Anyway, good luck to anyone who trys to get it!

Thats a good price, shame its not a 3g hand set or i would have snapped it up at this price....bear in mind that 2 more genio models are soon to hit the shelves...the genio pro and genio qwerty.

I brought one from O2 on Friday - excellent phone!

I need something like this for my partner but she is on o2.

Does anyone know if unlock codes can be purchased or a similar deal on o2?

Many Thanks

Would this phone only work on Vodafone or can it be used on other networks?

Ok this is my first time post but I have been on HUKD for ages now. I did this deal yesterday and must confirm that quidco pays only £5 not £10. I think this is due to the low phone price, although im not sure, Another thing I must say is that my gf bought the tocco lite this week, which was locked to vodafone, but it seems to accept my O2 sim card with no problems. Although this was from Phone4U and not direct from vodafone. I also must point out that many review websites are saying this phone IS 3G. http://www.yourmobilephonereviews.co.uk/samsung-s3650-corby.htm

I have not received the phone yet but will give more info about it, when i get it.

Thanks, Charlie

Just ordered one for my mothers Xmas prezzie! HEAT ADDED! :-D:-D

Just checked and mine has tracked at £5 rather than the £10 stated - grr!.. I'll update the top. Just over £50 is still great value though and I can't wait to recieve it!.. Hope it isn't affected by postal strikes!..
#15
Does anyone know if this comes with Vodafone branded software? The unlock can be sorted but dunno if I'd be bothered get it reflashed etc for use on O2...

Cheers,
Zuke

Heat added...looks nice! Can anyone confirm if this is 3G or not, and also how easy it will be to unlock? Sorely tempted!
#17
No mention of 3G on the Samsung website....still, H&R added...great price for a decent phone.

If it is locked, Asda Mobile sims (Cheap PAYG - 8p calls, 4p SMS) will work in Vodafone locked phones as it uses that network!

Tocco - my son is 13 in two weeks time.

Regarding Quidco - when I ordered this on Friday night Quidco stated £10 cashback, no mention of reduced cashback for cheaper phones. I'll certainly be raising a ticket, and suggest you all do the same.

Really good little phone, you wont be disappointed!

Can't comment on phones for your mum mate, but I had the KC550 almost a year ago, was on contract but with cashback worked out free over 12 months with free minutes and texts.

I got the phone and hated it... the sliding mechanism was rubbish, the phone software was rubbish... I sent it back it was that bad.

I haven't seen or tried this Samsung phone but its a year newer, I would definitely go for the Sammy out of the two.

I have the tocco lite which is a better spec phone then this, its simple and stylish and with a bigger screen and better camera I think i'd suggest holding out for the tocco.

However this seems a good phone and its a strong possibility i'll be purchasing one for my partner but i need it on o2.

I think the reason Quidco will not pay the full amount is the fact we are using a discount code. In fact Ive read somewhere, Quidco will not honour any payment where a disc code is applied.

went to the Vodafone shop in Trafford Centre to have a look at Samsung Genio nice touchscren mobile phone , it is not 3G though ! costs £80 from Vodafone shop but includes 10 pound top up , was going to go to get one tommorrow ... not now though ... Hot and many Thanks !!!!

The Genio Touch is a 3G phone which means its user can gain high speed connectivity on their handset. The phone works over both GSM & 3G networks which covers four GSM networks as well as a 3G UMTS 2100 network. It's built in EDGE technology & GPRS allows the user to transfer files between the Samsung Genio Touch & other devices at high speeds.

This phone is also sold by 3.. all there handsets support 3G
#33
LOL... exerts from two different reviews... :?

There’s no Wi-Fi or 3G support with the Samsung Genio Touch so don’t expect high speed connections and upload speeds, however if you are simply checking out your mates Facebook updates and not surfing the internet than this latest touch screen phone is ideal.

The 10% discount voucher is listed on Quidco's page too, with no mention of excluding cashback if you use it...

EDIT: Why exactly is it asking for my "Employment Status" and "Occupation" when ordering a PAYG phone??
#35
I have been informed that these are LOCKED to Vodafone, unless you buy £20 Top-up, which kinda makes it being unlocked - POINTLESS! :P
#36
I spoke with the online advisor pop up box which comes on when you go onto the product pages and asked him about how to get it unlocked. this is an extract from our conversation (You= Me, Mikey = Representitive)

You: I already have a vodafone contract, so is it possible to unlock a PAYG phone for me if I purchase one?

Mikey: You can definitely get the phone unlocked with us by calling us on customer services.

You: would it cost anything? As I have had a phone unlocked before for free as I was on this contract

Mikey: Normally we cost £19.99 to unlock the phone however as you've done it before free of cost you can again look for a gesture of goodwill from us.

May be of some help to you guys =P

Just a reminder about rip off Britain.....In Australia Vodafone unlock your phone for free regardless if its payg or contract. Buy in shop then phone vodafone and request unlock code.......why it can`t be like that here?.
