Never. Cables come with the motherboard. If you don't have them, you'll have to buy them. HDD's usually only come with their mounting screws.

The power cable comes from the power supply unit. If the hard drive is a retail unit then you get screws and sata cable (data). This however is OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and won't come with a sata cable (data).

I bought one of these from Amazon, the only you get with the HD are some screws.

I had to buy a SATA power converter cable from éBay (99p delivered). Luckily I already had the data cable.

Your motherboard should come with as many sata cables as you have ports to put them in. If not, Dell or whoever nicked them ;)

i bought one last week to back up my itunes and videos and photos.
Consolidated my Itunes library to it after spending 2/3 days sorting art work etc on it and about an hour and a half ago it has seemingly died, had to format it and now have to totally sort my f**king itunes out again :(

Sorry but that's rubbish. Just built a PC for my sister and her motherboard has '6' Sata ports and it certianly didnt come woith 6 Sata cables, came with 2 or 3 and I would like the see the motherboard that DOES provide 6 Sata cables to be honest. What would even be the point in the sale of Sata cables if every motherboard came with the exact amount of cables per port.

However it is true you get the sata cables with the motherboard or seperatley 'not' with the drives.

Seriously hot deal, especially after finding out on reviews just how fast these babies are. Just ordered 2 to replace my 2 year old 501LJs which are currently in the main desktop - which are still going strong I might add. Now I just need a deal on WD AV-GPs to put in the server..

Update - I take it back. Looks like the AV-GP is not suitable for use in a home server.

Did your drive come in a clear clamshell box and was there an antistatic bag?

Cancelled my order and got them for £41.11 delivered from Scan if you order in the next 20 mins or so and use avforums free devliery as the todayonly page will be updated then (probably doesn't justify a new deal).
