Does anyone know if Ebuyer Express on Ebay is actually connected with Ebuyer?
Some of their negative and neutral feedback is not very encouraging!
#3

Ebuyer Express is Ebuyer's ebay outlet. Why do you think they aren't connected?

If i wanted to expand my PS3 40gb hard drive is this compatible? also any1 know of a way to format external Hard drive to Fats32?
#8
I'm just wondering why Ebuyer would need to sell harddrives through an outlet store. Are they returns, and if so .. why ?

... or it could just be me being cynical (_;)

This is a 3.5inch(desktop) drive, wouldnt fit in the PS3 as they require 2.5"(notebook) sized drives. Nearly made the same mistake with this deal, the pictures not very clear.

On the ebay website it has Howden East Yorks ebuyers location. This is where their distribution centre is so they will be coming from the same stock.

As mentioned previously this drive is no use for a PS3, you need a 9.5mm 2.5" HD. (Annoyingly imperial and metric mixed)

This application is what you need, it can format drives to 2TB FAT 32. Which is the partition limitation for FAT32. Windows imposes a partition limitation of 32GB, but using this program you can get the full 2TB format if you require it.

Not with the speed of this drive, no. They do sell 2TB F3 but it's an Ecogreen version, it doesn't perform as well as this drive, the F4 Ecogreen 2TB doesn't perform as well as this one either.

Does anyone know If I was to buy this hard drive to put inside my Dell 531 Inspiron (desktop) would I need any additional cables?

You don't format it, the PS3 does. The only reason you should need that app is for backing up to a FAT32 partition larger than 32GB on an external drive. As all PS3 drives are larger than 32GB you will need to format the external drive partition with that app.

It's 100% connected. if you're using the same email address as you do on ebuyer, then it'll appear in your ebuyer purchase history and thus making it quite easy to get products sent back etc

The PS3 formats the drive in its own format, you don't need to format it. You need a 9.5mm 2.5" HD. The app would be used to format an external drive for backing up and restoring purposes.

I have a dell dimension 5150 and had to get a SATA cable (with L-SHAPE! connectors), was ~3 quid from maplin I think.

Cheers for all the responses to my query.

awesome price

Very good price but i wouldnt pay more then £35 for it now, unless i desperately needed the space, since it was £70 odd quid the other day for 2 of these and im sure it will come down to this price soon again.

Having said that, ive got 2 F1's and had 2 F3's, one of the F3 went down with a permanent clicking noise a few days ago and i lost all data on it -well 3 weeks worth since that was the last time i backed it up (it wont show up under disk managment of my computer and clicks continously inside the comp and in an external caddy). It was 5 months old. The other one is still going strong and im happy overall with Samsung drives and their performance.

how do i9 know if this is compatible with my pc ?? are they easy to install ?

Believe it or not, although anyone on HUKD or with a bit of IT savvy knows Ebuyer, a lot of the general masses do not!

They are widening their market reach through ebay (even though it will be slightly less profitable for them), which may then turn into repeat business directly to their site.

Cheers - need a bit more storage on my htpc :3

Thanks, tempted but think 2TB's are the way to go now...give it a few months and a TB HDD would be full
