£76.25 Inc VAT?

For Today Only deals you can just add it from the product link and it will automatically show the discounted price in your basket.

I’m surprised how quickly these are dropping in price as it’s not as if they have added drives larger than 1TB to push these down the pecking order.

i'd stick with ebuyer on this one - i bought one of these from scan and it was busted and they refused to refund/replace it as i hadn't reported it within 2 days of delivery! mastercard made them pay eventually.

i'll never by anything from SCAM again.
#11
10 pence per GB very nice

iv used scan a few times and have been very impressed with how quick the free delivery arrived far quicker than ebuyer free delivery

Agreed, stick with ebuyer.

I will not be voting on this one, it's a great price but Scan are a dispicable company IMO.

I've had 2 hdd's from them, first had a problem within 6 months, the second bought only a month or so ago had it's seal broken an somebody elses OS+ already loaded on it. No offer of replacement and only one reply from various emails sent :x

i've worked it out as costing about 2.5p per GB if you use writable DVDs (less than that officially but I never fill a dvd up neatly / by more than about 4GB)

at 10p per GB it's tempting to just keep buying hard drives instead.. much less fiddly!
#14
£2.20 cheaper ... nothing to shout about really...

a measly 2.5%
#15
if you're buying a bunch of them for a server or something, every little helps

Not as reliable for backup purposes though....I've lost data so many times from hard drives but for dvd's I don't get that problem.....just takes longer to write to them.....they both have their plus points.

Exactly. I dread the day when my TB+ of HDDs just pack up and I lose all my downloaded media. But DVDs are just annoying. When you want to watch or hear something, you have to find the DVD, put it in the noisy drive and read the data from it SLOWLY. Ugh.

Never had a problem with Scan & I've had plenty from them,,, DVD writers, DVD/CD media, router, hard drives. Ebuyer on the other hand I've used and had lots of probs.

Maybe it's a case of "if the face fits" then?!? Heheh

I've bought loads of stuff from scan especially from there today only section and have had no probs with them at all. On the other hand ebuyers free delivery has taken around 9 days on more than one occasion. Scan do the free delivery with next day delivery and ive bought something from scan for £10 and they didnt charge me either. Whereas Ebuyer charge upwards of £5 for smaller items.

Good deal btw as i few months ago i bought 4 TB WD drives at £129 a pop they are ok but i do prefer samsung and the 4 500GB samsungs i have are looking pretty small now.
#20
Bought dozens of pieces of computer hardware probably totalling £1000+ from scan and i dont have a single complaint. I've always had free delivery from the i33 event a while back and ive been given very quick delivery dates every time.

how do youbecome an "active" member in AVforum?

Also, will they (Scan or AVforum) give you a special code for free delivery once you become an active member?

How does it work?
#22
Become member of avforum, logged in but scan still charges postage, so obviously doesn't work or is over-complicated. Get it from eBuyer, easy buying with no postage. BTW gone up to £76.50 plus £5 postage.
#23
This is a really nice drive I picked one up with my £25 off a £75 spend at ebay voucher so got a bargain @ £60 delivered

Probably because you kept making orders less than £20. Still have mine from a year ago. The good thing about these ones is that you dont have to be a regular poster in the AV forum.
#29
Offer may have expired but standard price today is only 50p more.........ordered one for server I am building.
#30
Did anyone that ordered any get an email saying delivery would be delayed? I placed it a couple of days ago and so far it's been "picked" but not dispatched, been like that for a while.
I placed a separate order with them not long before I got the email and it hasn't even been picked yet - but I got no email from them saying there'd be a delay.
Very unhappy with the service.

EDIT: WOw! Freaky! Literally seconds after I posted this, I tried to phone scan. While the phone was RINGING I got a text to say the Hard drives had been shipped and will be delivered today!
#31
For once disappointed with Scan.

I too ordered earlier in the week and the disc was listed as IN STOCK.
So why the delayed order notification?

After getting the email I again checked at Scan and not only was it still listed as IN STOCK but also listed at a reduced price.

Bit naughty taking further orders AND giving new customers a further discount before they have even honoured existing orders.

I have just cancelled the hard disc part of my order and requested a refund.

Also disappointed that Scan haven't notified me of wether the rest of my order (ETA Monday) is still being shipped on Monday or delayed further.

As a night worker I like to know if a delivery is likely before waiting up all day after a night shift.
(but then in my experience Citylink only manage to deliver on time at best 20% of the time).

Last order took over a week, 3 emails and 4 phone calls before Citylink managed to do their job.
(They twice claimed to have called and carded when they did not call AT ALL).

God luck with your disc orders.

Sorry to hear of your experience vaiopup. I ordered this deal after 8pm on the day of the deal and the drive arrived in less than two days - the best free delivery I've come across.
