Gem it depends on budget really....you can use your PS for bluray and dvds so you can get away without a traditional home cinema and if budget stretches then an AV system will be much better and ideal for you as you can easily play everything through it via hdmi connections. I have just listed another deal for an Onkyo AV and speaker package that would be a great addition and do your AV needs for years to come....269.99 less a bit of quidco so all depends on budget but if you go this route you will be very impressed by the quality of sounds you get from all your equipment...

Good luck.

Hiya hunnie, thanks for that, but im still confused, we dont want a blu-ray player, as we dont watch blu-rays lol, good old dvds, we basically just want a surround sound system kind of thing, as though were at the cinemas lol, xxxx

Right well somethign like this is ideal for you. You will get great sound and this will upscale the DVDS so you get near 1080p quality sound from them and feel like you are in the cinema.

With mentioning the xbox and ps I thought you may want to connect all to the surround system which you can via other connection options but an AV receiver is always best for this but for good old movie watching then somehtign like this is ideal for you. Pricewise I think it si great value, it gives you about 350w of sound and being £40 cheaper than the likes of Amazon and Play then you know it is a bargain...well I use amazon pretty much as my benchmark....

Good luck

Well the hubby, does want to connect the ps3, xbox, tv, virgin box all together to whatever it is we need? Am i confusing you now lol xxxx

Not confusing but you are going to be better with an AV receiver.....it is the best and easiest way to connect them all. The other I have just listed from bestbuy ahs 4 hdmi slots and you will be able to connect to the AV all your equipment. A simple click on your remote will allow you to listen toy oru virgin, ps3 xbox or dvd through the AV and the sound will be so much ebtter than using a stand alone home theatre like this one.....this is a great system if you want to play just dvd's and connect your tv but for what hubby wnats get an AV you will not regret it guaranteed.....Onkyo are a name you may not have heard of but they are one of the top names in AV equipment despite the many jokes you see here about them and Sony ...... I have an Onkyo and they are very good.....

So for dvd's get something like this system but for connecting your other items get an AV receiver and speakers...

Me thinks anyway......

Any cheap home cinema syste with 2 HDMI in?

Do speaker quality differ at all when comparing to the £3-400 home cinema (all in one) systems?

Thats exactly what I want - a cheap 2.1 or 5.1 system with optical or HDMI inputs - preferably 2 of them. DVD/Blu ray player a bonus too.

That depends on your blu ray player, link me the name/model and I'll do a quick google search and let you know mate or PM me as I will need to see if there are any ports in the back left for speakers or cinema systems.
