This does look he part. Is there a Blu-Ray version of this out or is my mind playing tricks on me?

You'd be hard pressed to get a 5.1 receiver and speakers for this price

Not sure what it's realy worth but £200 looks a good price.

If YOU yourself thinks it does not worth £200 how do you expect anyone else to vote it as a "HOT deal?"....... logic prevails obviously...

Edit: Apologies, mis-read post. No its not worth £200.

Ooooh is it handbags at 10 paces time?

None of the items you show are the same as the OPs. Also, you fail to see the difference between a home cinema system and an AV receiver.

What you have linked to are DVD players that output 5.1 sound - wow, you can get these for less than £100 if you look around.

A receiver also allows other AV equipment such as games consoles to be connected and output through the surround system.

I haven't really checked the specs on the ones you linked here, mainly because I'm not as petty as you.

Tis the season to be petty, fa-la-la-la-laaaaa la-la-la-laa

right..
The others I've listed was replying to mminghella's post of 'it'll be hard to find a 5.1 receiver and speaker set up', i simply showed there were so so many online right now for much less with similar specs. Most prob because their being superseded by ones which have blu-ray's or 7.1's or wireless tech etc etc...
It'll be difficult to actually find a 5.1 DVD cinema system WITHOUT extra HDMI/optical/phono/USB inputs nowadays. So that receiver talk is fairy tales..

I've never slated that you can get the exact model CHEAPER ELSEWHERE, I merely said it is really really not worth £200 nowadays, you can get the EQUIVALENT cheaper.

mminghella:  you say my reply is incorrect.. when you cant be bothered to check.. right.. ignorance is bliss i guess. merry xmas :gift:

Being petty and being correct is different, fortunately i can tell the difference - knowledge and wisdom is the best xmas present anyone can have. hope you like it.

Edit: FYI, OP posted a home cinema system, which has a DVD player and 5.1 speakers and some phono/HDMI/USB ports. Did you even read the OP's post before rep/heat? It is pretty much THE SAME functionality wise as the links I've posted.

in conclusion

it seems no one thinks this system is worth £200 - it doesnt matter if this is the cheapest you can find the item for - it just aint worth the money
