i think that they should work as the speakers are made by samsung. Or you might require to use the wires that come with this system to your old speakers

As already answered yes, if you have an optical switcher like the recent joytech optical/component switch deal then it becomes a multi-way optical. I have my satellite, xbox, PVR & media player all going into my Sammy with no issues.

Not multi region as far as I know, I'll pop a R1 disk in and let you know.

Yeah, that's a bit freaky it looks like that have two sets of rears in two of the pictures. Mine is like the third pic with two taller fronts and smaller rears.
#18
BTW, I am very happy with mine, good sound, good speakers, enough vol+bass to blow your windows out.

The speakers terminate in hard plastic plugs that look similar to a fuse from a car (if you know what they look like). If your old speakers are the same then you have no issues but they may not fit.

Ooops, forgot to vote hot. Its the new model that replaces the x30 and it was difficult to find at this price when I was looking a few months ago, I got it from Dixons on the same code in May.
#21
I've just ordered one - excellent find!

Anyway - to make it region free, try the following:

Switch the player on and make sure theres nothing in the tray

Power off on the remote

Power on with remote

press enter, then 84269 then enter again.

Player should power off automatically and should now be region free

When you add the item to your basket, it suddenly becomes the HT-X310R. Was that all about then?

You need to buy the wireless unit separately - search for SWA-4000 unit. You still need to connect the speakers to the wireless unit though.

got to be honest then, not very good deal, very bulky as it is, now you got to add £59 for the wireless adaptor thing, and have that hanging around, think i may give this one a miss then, too much **** everywhere, thanks for the reply as it was in my basket and one click away

You get the speaker cable included to wire them up even without the unit. To be fair I paid £70+ for the unit and it's nice and easy to use, no hassle at all.
#31
Ive been looking for something like this for a while thankyou.
#32
can anyone confirm this is defo the HTZ310R and not the X310R ? as seems to change when in basket? also is it much better than the thx35r unit which i currently have is it worth the swap ?
#33
good deal! hot. even cheaper if bought with certain TV's + don't forget 3% quidco
#34
shows on pc world page as ht-x310r but on discription as htz-310r ?
#35
Voted cold just for the appalling marketing tactic of labelling it 1000W just to appeal to the clueless bozos at Dixons and their hapless punters. "Peak power" BS with no indication of how that is measured, for how long, or at what distortion level. Probably the maximum spike they could acheive in the lab for a millisecend before it disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Big give away in the specs - Total power consumption = 80W including the DVD player, misc electronics and heat. With all channels working your I doubt you'll even get 10W per channel RMS.
#36
I'm interested in this purely from the wireless aspect of it all.

However can anyone recommend a quality totally wireless surround sound speaker system.
I don't particularly require a DVD player as I have a panny combo DVD/VCR recorder. I suppose I would also require an amp?
#37
ordered one,thanks op have some heat n rep.reviews look promising...http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=754943 .

I own this model. Its amazing except when playing some disks the machine is noisy. A clicking noise, Watched the lost boys the other day the noise was so load and the movie kept stopping. been trying to get an exchange but the customer service is cr*p, Phoned the number off the site been given 4 other numbers all passing me around and then starting at the beginning again the "oh you need this place we dont deal with that" excuss. Also high pitch squeal maybe added for energy efficiency as you turn it off at the wall when not in use.

Apart from that great picture/sound/ usb divx/ dvd divx/ connect mp3 players/ blue tooth connection.
wireless could be probmatic, the card to put in the back seems hard to find. cables quite long .

apart from
