A poor receiver and not one that should be top of anyones shopping list despite the price drop http://www.whathifi.com/Review/Samsung-HW-C700/

It doesn't say when that review was written, as Samsung have released a firmware update to fix a few issues that may have been present in the review.

Yeah this device seems to be have created with the idea of those whom know nothing about vision and sound wanting to connect everything through a central hub with some surround sound, and i suppose for those it will be ideal, with the customer who cant see teh difference between SD and HD and wouldn't understand 7.2 from 2.0 would prolly love, but then again those customers can pick up a cheap receiver for under a £100.00

for This price I would expect a budget amateur to be looking and they could do well elsewhere, say a more basic Onkyo or Yamaha. or go second hand and far more bang for your buck.

Onkyo TX-SR307 - around same price. (only 5.1 and 3 HDMI but far better)
YAMAHA RXV367 - again same price. (5.1 but HDMI x4 1.4 3D ready)

Doesn't matter when the review was written, I can't find a decent thing written about this receiver, this amp really isn't worth the asking price.

But then it is a case of your own taste.
I find the Yam's a bit harsh (some say detail).
Most Sony have a soother Valve kind of feel.
I would kill £200 on this. Your text here

Still it looks great and cant find it cheaper myself so H+R from me.

Review states: tested with the Blu-ray of Pelham 123 so must be reviewed within the last couple of months.

Was it released the same time worldwide?

I've got one of these, but brought the HWc770 kit with the 7 speakers and Sub. The sounds good on it, theres a few little things that cause an issue, but I have worked around those. If you have samnsung kit then I would recommend taking a look.

i'm still on an onkyo 605 and love the sound. see NO reason to upgrade, its just i have more HDMI stuff than legal and 2 ports really IS a p1ss take.

thought this pretty so and so may be a worthy replacement but alas.....

THE reason to upgrade 3D.
