Samsung i8910 HD:
Handset: £47.99
Orange - 24 Month Contract
Dolphin 25 = £24.97
400 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
Quidco £35

Total cost of ownership over the 24 months comes in at £600 if I've calculated it correctly.

£24.47 x 24 + £45.99 - £35.00 Cashback

Seems a lot, so can anyone find anything better?

I'm a totally useless when it comes finding the best deal for any given phone, so I'd appreciate any pointers.

I can get the term cost down to £539.67 over 24 months (inc £35.00 cashback), but initial outlay has to be £104.99. :(

£19.57 x 24 + £104.99 - £35.00 Cashback

Term cost is actually identical to the Dolphin 30 / 18 Month contract, but then you've got to factor in the cost of a contract for the remaining 6 months.

Surely someone can find it a bit cheaper?

I would of definitely voted hot if it was an 18 Month contract. I didn't vote.
18 month deal here:

Free handset on the Orange Dolphin 40 tarrif which gives you 900 minutes and unlimited texts. This tarrif is normally £39.15 per month but with the 4 month free line rental via redemption the effective cost per month is £30.45.

Possible £30 Quidco cashback as well!
I'm not really that bothered about this being voted cold tbh

However, I would be grateful if those 'Cold Voters' could point out any better deals that may be around and which I haven't spotted.

I know what you mean.

The cheapest 18mth contract I could find will cost an extra £50 for the handset tho'. The overall cost of ownership is exactly the same as the 24mth contract. (£539.67).
I think that's as cheap as you'll get it unless you splash out more on the cost of the phone. I thought about this phone as my contract is nearing it's end but, despite the hype, the production model doesn't come with a built in FM transmitter so I'll probably be going for a LG Arena instead.

Thanks for that.

I suppose it'd be OK for those who need masses of minutes, but the term cost is £690 (equivalent of £460 a year). :w00t:
Handset gone up to £70.99 now! :x Shoulda got it the other day instead of waiting for a better deal!
