I used to own Galaxy S mk 1, and if that's anything to go by, this'll be a beast!

Dual core and 1080p recording, niiiiiice.

Just a tad expensive right now, will wait for it to come on contract with O2.

Heat added anyways.

Aren't they the same phones, but that particular one has got 'Tegra 2' in its name for some strange reason?! All the same specs etc.

This is very likely going to be THE best Android handset on the market after it launches; even better specs than the HTC Sensation although the latter probably has the edge in terms of software.
#7
Does anyone know if Samsung have plans to launch a similar service to HTC Watch? i.e. films/programmes available to rent on your phone

good :)
A couple of days ago I was furious when they'd posted it for £705.00 !!!! :)
that looks more like it

also apple is going to have its work cut-out keeping with all the dual core android phones coming out.
it will be interesting to see what the iPhone 5 brings to the table.

Unlikely; HTC bought a company (Saffron Digital) a couple of months ago in order to offer this streaming service. I haven't heard anything similar for Samsung.

EDIT: Mind you, nothing to stop them from partnering with an existing service.

Dont think I'd be preordering as there seems to be too much indecision on the processor. Initially it was the tegra 2 but its now looking like its Samsungs own chip (thankfully, after seeing the bechmarks between the Xoom (tegra) and the iPad 2 (samsungs chip)) Theres also been rumours of multiple versions, as pointed out by 7iain7, being released, so I would be worried that I would get the tegra version (if that actually exists) Ahh, so confusing!! Either way, its still going to be the best phone on the market at release, bar none.

By all accounts this looks like a crackin phone, I have the iphone4 but bought the SGS for the other half and its a great phone...
#13
I was waiting for the iPhone5 in June...but it now looks like it will be announced in Sept./Oct.

I was hoping it would have the Retina Display...now rumours suggest it won't.

So, the SGS2 could be the one...roll on launch day!
#14
I'll most definitely be buying this when it's released!

Note that Expansys and Play.com have also lowered their prices to match Amazon at £499.99, although the pre-order date on Play.com is currently showing as 29th April whereas Amazon's is 27th April.
#15
Also note by going with Expansys you'll get about £25 in cashback via Quidco or TCB, going with the Amazon deal will get you a lot of nectar points though! I've pre-ordered from Expansys! Roll on May 3rd!

Scary thought splashing £500 on a phone! I'll be selling my DHD and Blackberry 9700 to fund this baby so will cost much less but splashing £500 solely on a phone outright is a lot! Considering you can get tablets/laptops etc for similar price range!

Agreed, £500 is a lot on a phone but the notebook I want is £900...you're paying for the phone when you take out a contract anyway...

They already have a movie system as they were offering films through it as part of a promotion for the Tab. It's not very good though, you can choose to either rent or buy films (both download in wmv format) but the prices are poor and it takes a while to get them downloaded.

OK, I don't know what I was doing at the time...but I get the chance to say I was wrong in the posts above.

Of course iPhone5 WILL have the Retina display...it's the iPad3 that MAY not have the Retina display.

Sorry for any confusion.
#22
I would love one of these, but there is no way I would pay £500 for it. The price is bound to drop a few months after release. I can wait... ;) (I hope)

What depreciate faster, cars or phones?
#24
Play and Expansys selling for same price, but with 3.5% and 5% quidco respectively

I have had a Samsung Pixon for the past three years, but needed to replace it when the camera went wrong.

My new Samsung Galaxy S2 is WONDERFUL.

Every annoyance with the slow and clunky interface of the pixon is GONE. When transferring my contacts, I have been reminded of the old phone's irritations. Slide your finger over the touchscreen to scroll contacts and it would select the contact under your finger. This new phone never gets it wrong, probably down to the capacitive screen and multitouch. Every interface has been well thought out. There is no lag.

I saw a customer review on Amazon, that criticised it for being too light....haha. Can't please everyone. Glue it to a brick?

BTW Quidco | O2 | £150 plus £10.50 per month for 2 years plus £3 bolt on which can be removed. £90 cashback from quidco. So £60 cash effectively.
