Not looking at phones, but just happened to spot this.

I thought it was a good deal, but it's a line rental cashback offer by redemption!!!
(If you don't like these offers or can't manage the paperwork or forget, then don't read any more, go and do something less boring instead)

Basically it's the above phone, Samsung J700 (not going to set the world alight with features, but seems OK?), on an O2 tariff, 400 minutes + 500 texts, 18 month contract @ £30 a month.

Total cost over term, 18 x £30 = £540, less cashback of 16 x £30 = £480, = £60.
Less £50 quidco, cost over term a tenner!

Also, it doesn't appear to be a clearance phone!

It's through Phones4U so very reliable with cashbacks, as long as you claim them correctly? But seem to think they have a 60 day window, which is about the longest of any of the cashback retailers?

Couldn't find another "reputable" retailer with as many months free so thought it worth posting.

Like I said earlier, it won't appeal to everyone, but it may be of use to someone?
Hope it helps.

Very good deal, personally I'd go for the 12 months free one from mobiles2yourdoor (same company as p4u), although it's pink.

You can get a 12 month free on a black one, just not a very good tariff, but it looks like it's a new one and not a clearance though?

Hope that helps

There is a better tariff, but it's more money to lay out and all cashbacks carry a degree of risk.

Although this deal and the 12 month one above will both return a £50 Quidco profit (theoretically)

Same phone on Voda this time, 12 months free, etc.

Well spotted, I wonder why they don't have those deals on their home page or 12 months free page.

As cashbacks become more risky the longer their duration - and ifs normally possible to make a small profit on an annual one - then increasing the risk duration by 50% to make a slight loss - and get one less new phone over three years hardly makes sense.

True, but then all the 12 month ones I could find were on Vodafone and the coverage is rubbish round here.

This seemed to be the best deal I could find on O2, although wasn't really looking.

expect to do a lot of checking up with mobiles2yourdoor and if they send you the copy-and-paste form letter telling you the form will arrive don't believe it. make sure you know when you are due the form and make sure they send it. when the form arrived after several emails (first 2 responses were identical copy-and-paste responses. a proper reply was received once i mentioned the 'scam' word) i sent it back straight away and heard no more. apparently they never received it despite it being signed for, i have proof of that. i had to escalate it to get my money back by emailling the phones4u ceo!

like edi says the customer service sucks so if you have no problems, good for you but make sure you know what to do if something goes wrong. there's a guide on here somewhere but i can't find a non-expired one at the moment.

I had no problems with m2yd, in fact they were the easiest cash back company i have personally dealt with and your able to call them on a local rate number if you go via. say no to 0870.
The form with M2YD doesn't usually come till a week or so before your first claim date and you have then 60 days to sort it out. If you have a problem calculating the claim dates then phoning the customer service team and asking like i did is a good idea. I just noted them onto my calender and have had no problems at all. Admittedly the CS is a bit slow and you need to pick 'quiet' times to get through within 5 minutes.

My first claim is due on 1/9/08, I have the cashback form, but I have not received a bill since I registered for online access on Vodafone. Do M2YD accept a copy of an online bill or do I have to have a copy of a paper bill?

They will want the paper bill and not a copy or a online print out, sounds like a Vodafone problem, Id get on there back about is ASAP :)

I spoke to M2YD at the time of taking out the contract and was told a copy of the bill was OK, but at that time I had not registered online with Vodafone. Therefore i do not know if they would accept a copy of an online bill.

Why not just call your network provider and get them to send out another bill, I have 2 cashback contracts with m2yd at the moment and they have been great, my last cashback was paid within a week of sending in the paperwork

I called them today and have changed back to having a paper bill, don't know why they can't do both like I had with Orange.

Phones4u cs is far better than m2yd in my experience.

There may be £5 more quidco cashback but you have to pay for 2 extra months! So £75 worse off!

Dont think there is a separate CS for M2YD. Both were managed in one place and by the same people. The email ID of the guy whom I spoke to at M2YD is "][email protected] :)

They are certainly very different! Phones4u staff (at the moment) will deal with m2yd queries, I expect you got a helpful p4u member of staff (as did I), if you get a m2yd member of staff by phoning them direct or asking to be put through then good luck!!!
