Good deal, but orange signal is rubbish.

Heh, I beg to differ. I've never had any problems, although I guess they're localised issues...

Nice - any idea how long before you can change to a lower taffif if you start on dolphin 35??

"You will not be able to switch to a lower service plan for the first 6 months of a 12 month contract and 9 months of an 18 month contract. After the first 6 or 9 months, as appropriate, you may switch to the next lower value service plan a maximum of one time for the remainder of your contract. You are able to switch to an equivalent or higher service plan at any time."

Hope that helps.

cool - that means you can take Orange Canary 30, change after 9 months to Orange Dolphin 25 and the total cost is £170 for 18 months. Same as Orange Dolphin 25 for 18 months (as long as they and quidco pay!)

Not bad ducky, but I'm a firm believer that the cashback system works, it works for me and long may it continue! I'd rather have 12 months free than 18 months half price. Good deal for those who don't want the hassle/risk.

Not for me though I'm afraid mate!

If it's 100% automated then for some this will be worth the sacrifice, actually I expect this kind of deal to become more common as Ofcom/Gov/Trading Standards/Networks have all clamped down on cashback retailers due to all the complaints, 33% of cashback customers losing money or losing it all is a massive amount.
Which is a shame I've managed to keep on top of my free rental deals.

I would also point out that getting a £30/m+ 18month Orange Mobile Contract entitles you to their free Broadband service I believe or their discounted top end broadband service. I'm sure www.orange.co.uk has more info on this.

QuidCo can sometimes be a risk but the statistics for M2YD seem to show that 98% of purchases via QuidCo tracked correctly, and of those 2% that didn't 83% of enquiries were successful, which isn't bad at all.

As the cashback is automatic they can't reject any claims, and as it's all paid after one month there's none of the worry about "will this firm be here in 12/18 months time?".

It should prove to be a fairly painless and lucrative deal. If you take it up then make sure you come back in a month and let us know how it went!

Plus, as I said above, it's not only 100% automated but it's 100% paid after one month... pretty much "cash upfront".

lol, we're always worried about the retailer doing a runner before paying our cashback, they'll be worried about us doing a runner before paying our contract!

I called Orange to clarify this:

On any Orange Mobile 18month Contract of £30/month or more the following subsidised broadband options are available, which are also on 18month contracts: (read: if you downgrade your mobile contract after 9months to below £30/m you lose the subsidy)

Home Starter Broadband is £5/month - 6GB Download Limit and 2mbit max (£12/month unsubsidised)

Home Max Broadband is £12/month - Unlimited with FUP and 8-24mbit max depending on your line (£20/month unsubsidised)

guys ( you are all far more clevererer about all this than me ) can you load up your contract account with the money you get from the cashback- i.e. pay £225 straight into Orange and that will credit your account and then deduct the money/bill from that first and when it runs out come out of the bank. I hope that makes sense. You know how it is you get a lump sum in your account and *poof* its gone before you know it! and then you'll be left with paying the full bill amount yourself!

Cheers

You can credit your account I believe, ie, on Canary 30, assuming no surpurfluous charges, £90 credit will mean no charges for 3months.

I assume so... you could probably pay for your entire contract upfront and only pay for what you go over. I'm sure Orange would be more than happy!!

thanks guys!
