Thought this seemed a really good price, as the player alone (Samsung BDP1500) retails for around £150 itself!

Imo, this company should not be trusted!

I've spent over £600 with CDiscount so far this year, no issues at all so far!

RED HOT DEAL!!!
#5
i ordered from CDiscount last week and the item arrived after 2 days, good service
#6
only 720p and 1 HDMI. Don't be fooled by the bluray player and spend the same £399 on getting a 1080p TV with 3 hdmi sockets

in my opinion
#7
:( what are the chances of this deal staying till 16th of June?

EDIT: only 1 hdmi :| thats pretty bad, I guess ill look elsewer

Agreed.

Surely this is pretty good as a starter package, especially with the £15 newbie voucher?

Also, would one of these help?

http://crave.cnet.co.uk/homecinema/0,39029447,49299935,00.htm

I've ordered a few things from this site...no problems

This tv is also pretty decent.

HOT HOT HOT!
#15
added the £15 off for new customers to the OP for everyone/anyone.
#16
anyone fancy splitting this? i want the blu ray player?
you can buy the tv and stand, and ill buy the blu ray player off you?
#17
I've only spent a 'mere' £300 at CDiscount.. absolutley no problems! All my products worked, arrived when they should (at a difficult-to-find address!!)

This is a hot deal! People who slate a 'newish' UK-based company should have a look at the parant company, and the combined buying power of the group! I know I did before even ordering! ... I did and are not part of 'that' 'easter' bandwaggon trundlling through these shores!
#18
I also got bad experience with this company.

or was that 'eggs-perience'? ..please elaborate!...:whistling:

super hot as its decent branded gear and cdiscount is great quick shipping and 3 payment can be really helpful in an emergency.
#21
I also wouldnt use these again, ordered about £150 worth of stuff a while back, turns out they were out of stock but cdiscount decided not to tell me until after 9 days. I had used the 3-pay thing and after cancelling my order and refunding first payment, they then took another a week later. I was then told I could reorder the items other than the out of stock one, at which point they had all gone up in price.

As has been said, muppets.

What is it with HDUK members' hostility toward fairly new successfully businesses?
In this current climate new e-retailers succeeding is a great feat to achieve...and added to he fact CDiscount consistently have better priced deals on TV's than such HUKD favourites as Play.com or Amazon...so it makes no sense to me. The 'horror stories' I've read here don't go no further than no response to emails - but, er, just phone them?!

They are a even a member at this site and usually pop up in threads containing their deals, which is far from what Play or Amazon do - who usually RAISE hardware prices once they get made hot here!

I don't know - it just winds me up a little - especially when people throw accusations around or give 'specs' (i.e. 1x HDMI connection) without ever providing proof to back it up.

Firstly, the spec on the pages at cdiscount say it has 1 HDMI

Samsung LE32B450C4W LCD HD Ready TV, 32" (82cm) Visable Screen Size, Integrated Digital Tuner, 1366 x 768 Resolution, [COLOR="Red"][SIZE="5"]1 x HDMI[/SIZE][/COLOR], 1 x Scart, 20W RMS, 178° Viewing Angle, Built in Speakers, Wide Colour Enhancer with Samsung BDP1500 Blu-Ray DVD Player, 1 x HDMI Socket, Plays BD-ROM / DVD-ROM / DVD-R / DVD-RW / AVCHD / Audio CD and AVS C303-800 Black Glass TV Stand, dimensions: W:800mm D:450mm H:520mm.

Secondly, You say the horror stories are 'cdiscount not reply to emails'...why do you think we are trying to send them emails in the first place??

You would think a company trying to establish itself would at least try to get it's TV specifications correct, a lot of people wouldn't buy this TV because CDiscount say it only has 1 HDMI when it obviously doesn't. I don't think that's anyone throwing accusations around, that's just laziness on CDiscount's behalf.

Also, if people have had bad experiences with this company isn't it best to know, what are they supposed to do, lie about it?

Theres a 20% account credit code although dont know if you can use this in conjunction with £15 off code:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/385376/promotional-code-for-20-account-cre/

EDIT: added voucher to thread.
EDIT2: It seems to let you use both vouchers too!

John Lewis has the same model for £449 (w/ 5 yrs gurantee)
with 2 HDMI inputs
#30
Ordered, thanks. The £15 came off, and the 20% coupon applied.

The 1500 samsung blue ray players go for about £100-£130 on ebay, so it will be going on there unless I get offers on here.. I will post a for sale when it arrives. It will be boxed and sealed.

Also 8% quidco.

It is odd, re the HDMI inputs...

Cdiscount say 1, samsung and most other sites say 3, JL say 2??? It is the same model, surly it is 3 as per the samsung web site.

If they threw in the blu-ray and stand in for that price would be a better deal for the extra warranty!

Dont understand how same model can have different number of HDMI inputs. These sites are useless for techy details - am guessing right answer is 3.

Link to the PDF manual

and a firmware upgrade???? From Samsung... Don't have a clue how to apply it to the TV??

http://www.samsung.com/uk/function/search/resultList.do?searchWord=LE32B450C4W+&x=0&y=0

Ahh. I see the software installs to a USB pen, then you stick that in the TV.

Manual concludes 3 HDMI, two on the back, one on the side..

Well the TV on its own is cheaper in other places, so the BlueR player is not free, but part of the package.... I think you can not sell a item for less than you paid??? But the Blue Ray player retails at £149, so £149 of the bundle price of £399 is the blue ray player, so anything less than £149 would be fine IMO... Any mods would like to comment??

Maybe I'm missing something here, but on the samsung website it says 3 HDMI, but there's something in the upper left corner that says there's only 1 HDMI? I'm not very up to speed on these things!!
#38
Works out at 3 x £128.33 thro installment method. Plus if I'm right £77 account credit! eBay the blu-ray and pick up the samsung DVD recorder using the account credit and you've got one cheap bundle!!!!

On the PDF on the web site, page 3. It shows the connections, two on the rear, and one HDMI on the side panel.

You do realise this is just for the TV dont you..

The description is wrong its been copied and pasted from all the listings..

OItherwise this is a better deal: http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/SoundVisionandSatNav/DVDHomeCinema/BluRay/f-734-179346.html

Thats a 37" TV, Stand and Blu Ray for £134.99 if the descriptions can be trusted..

Its definitly not gonna have the bluray or the stand included.. It may be worth trying to cancel if you have ordered..
