This was mentioned a month or so ago.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/477450/samsung-series-4-450-32-le32b450-hd/showpost.php?p=6266982&postcount=21

I wonder if it's nationwide yet...

They've been willing to match Richer Sounds on this for a while, but if it's this price instore now it's a good deal.

You're forgetting that this comes with a 5 year guarantee. I won't vote until I can confirm that it's 319, because if it is, I'm buying one! Been waiting for JL to lower their price.

Make your mind up...one minute you vote it cold...then admit it's good value even at £349 with a 5 year guarantee..
maybe next time, think before you vote negatively????...especially when you now admit you're wrong...

Currys Digital sell for 3.49 maybe dixons is cheaper as online anyway i bought this tv form John Lewis last weekend and it showed 349 on the website but when i went to the Manchester Store the Instore price was 329 which is what i paid becasue from what i could see most places sell for around 349 with maybe the dixons exception.

So not sure if this is Cold or Hot as i paid £10 extra but i'd be ahppy to pay that much extra for the 5 Years guarantee. To be Honest i'd even pay 349 as 5 Years Guarantee upgrade with samsung is listed as 139 pounds in the leaflet with the TV

dont get ur knickers in a twist , I voted cold as its not available for £319 well at least not at my local store however it was available for £349 with 5 years warranty which is a still good deal considering the 5 year warranty, lets see how many people can find this for £319 at there local john lewis as that is what this thread indicates, is it not ?

you could get johnlewis to pricematch richersounds price of £320 now that would be hot.

Now you are just been STUPID! you voted cold because it is not available in YOUR store? Then you waffle on..... surely everyone knows JL Price match and do a 5 yr warranty for free.
Note voted either way as I have not checked to see if it is cheaper elsewhere - no need for this size. Looking for 26" and 42ish.

Errm i just said Local Manchester Store has it at 329 no need to ask for price match or anything thats the price on the ticket so even if it's 10 pound dearer with out messing about with price match then this has to be Hot

If its 319 in Bristol JL then any JL will sell it at that price, you just need to get them to call Bristol JL up to confirm.

We did this with our last TV, JL Reading had it at 1049 and JL Trafford at 1499, one quick call to reading and i was walking out with one having paid 1049 :)

another one hey lol , op has said he went to his local john lewis and this was £319, yes ? but I went to my local john lewis and it was priced £349 must be store specific, so I voted it cold as this thread is for a samsung lcd le32b450 for £319 not £349 , maybe it should have been priced £349 @ john lewis then it would have been hot..
#12
Always wonder why so many people here are so keen to go to JL and bother with their price match instead of buying @ Dixons or Richer ?

Mate....follow the old advice..." Put the shovel down once you've dug the hole"..

You're looking increasingly silly....best you go find another thread to troll on.:whistling:

In fact.. how can you neg this even at £349 when only a few days ago you were the OP on a thread pointing to
a Phillips 32" TV costing MORE than this one???????????? In other words, you rate a Phillips TV with a 12 month warranty above this Samsung model despite a FREE 5 year warranty at JL for the Samsung...that pretty much gives us an insight into your in depth knowledge of TV's then....

Bought this a month or so ago at £349 with the 5 year warranrty - nice to have that peace of mind.

Great TV for the price.

Looks far far better than my mates 42" LG Plasma that cost £200 more

Isn't it because JL give a 5 year warranty at no extra cost? Or am I missing something?

gutted that John Lewis Newcastle are at £349 and won't price match the JL store in Bristol. Checked with Richer Sounds and they said this is not a very good tv for watching sky and better for sky hd and gaming. Can anyone advise - its for another room as a second tv and will only be used to watch standard sky.

thanks

Got a funny feeling that is a breach of their price match policy.

Seriously...you make yourself look more ridiculous with every post you make!!

From a recent post of yours...about 32" tv's.....

"stay away from the cheaper makes most of them dont perform so well stick with sony, samsung , lg , panasonic,"

.....which blows your Phillips comment out of the water....and on that very subject, your post on the Phillips got a pitiful 91 degrees of heat..................lol:oops:

Like I said...put the shovel down and stop digging........
#23
Don't ask me how, but I managed to get this for £219.95 in John Lewis on Tuesday. Big mistake with price matching which worked in my favour. :-D

John Lewis Oxford St, London just called me back and agreed to match richersounds and do this TV for £319. Seeing how JL do the free 5 year guarantee as well it is a great deal all round.

Looks a good deal this even at £349 on their site with the garuntee. Are john lewis likely to bring the price down to match currys etc. Just wondered if they usually do, will wait and see.

Which? Review:

Based on last year’s sales figures, it’s a good bet that the Samsung LE32B450C4W, a series 4 Samsung LCD TV, will be one of the bestselling TVs in the UK. But we don’t think it’s as good as the best on offer from Sony, Panasonic, or indeed from, Samsung itself. If you’re desperate for a Samsung, opt for the step-up series 5 instead (LE32B554).

Our experts thought that the picture on this 32-inch TV was aggressively stark, thanks to a mixture of edgy detail and harsh, bold colour. A snooker clip revealed smeary colour bleed, and the picture faded when viewed from an angle. HD pictures had excellent resolution and vibrant rich colours, but they spotted an odd yellow colour tint when watching off centre.

Like most Samsung TVs, audio performance is mediocre, but it doesn’t suffer from any major flaws. Nevertheless, our experts found that some lower frequencies were absent and though that the sound lacked warmth.

At just 63 watts, power consumption is astonishingly low – in fact it’s the lowest we’ve seen to date. If you’re determined to get it lower and don’t mind losing some picture brightness, another 20 watts can be shaved off by switching the energy-saving option to ‘high’.

It is fairly straightforward to use and set up, with some useful extras such as a picture-in-picture option on the EPG and good-sized buttons on the remote. However, the instruction manual lacks detail, which may be a problem if you’re not technically minded.

Extras are a little thin on the ground – but that shouldn’t be a shock at this price. It lacks a headphone input and USB port, and has only one Scart socket. However, a selection of digital and analogue sockets let you connect the TV to stereo or surround-sound amplifiers, or to a PC. It also supports audio description (additional narrative for visually impaired people), but we found that the AD logo can appear on programmes that don’t use the service.

Pros: Incredibly low power consumption, affordable price tag

Cons: Picture quality is not a patch on the step-up series 5 model

I think it is without a doubt - the extra is worth it for the five year warranty.
