Anyone know what the picture is like from a standard def Sky box and a Scart lead???

Gosh this is cheap. I was one of the multitude who bought a 32 inch 1080i Sammie from Freemans 3/4 years ago for near £700! And that was with a 30% off code and Quidco!!

its very cheap indeed in fact its a bargain !!

What are the backlights like on the slightly newer models?

Both my P2450 monitor and B450 TV's backlights have degraded rapidly after only owning them for 6 months or so. My monitor is maybe half its full brightness, while my tv is at about 65% of what it was.

Nice price... need to add this one to the short list.

I have the Samsung LE32B450 and it's a cracking TV. It's only HD-ready so this price for a Full HD is brilliant. The only downside is the most annoying wee sound it makes when you turn it on or off, there's got to be some way to get rid of it!

Am I missing something, this is not full HD....................................

Resolution (horizontal x vertical - in pixels) 1920 x 1080 pixels ??

On the Dixons website it says HD ready only......

This is 'HD Ready' rather than 'Full HD'. With 'Full HD' LGs and Samsungs of this size regularly appearing for this kind of money, I don't see why anyone would pay this for this tv.

The 450 is great TV, but is cheaper here at richersounds if you can pick one up:
http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/samsung/le32b450/sams-le32b450

The 530 is cheaper at richersounds than dixons too:

You can get John lewis to price match richersounds too. :)

These non full-HD screens have their uses.. A lot of people swear that they are better for using with the PS3 due to it not upscaling like the XBOX... You are supposed to get a better image..

Maybe sony will add proper upscaling on the PS3.. I doubt it though as they seem to prefer to remove features rather than add them! oO
