It is eBuyer selling it though, they obviously have a lot to clear since they shifted hundreds of these at the same price about a week ago.

No idea, but just buy a DVD upscaler, thay have a USB. You can pick them up for £40 (I got mine in Currys but Maplin do them also), and as a bonus they upscale your standard DVDs to as good a quality to HD as possible.

was there not an issue with the auto brightness on these?

It does have a USB port and it does play movies - this year's model at this price - I'd pick it up if I wanted one...

HEATED - Very good TV for a great price. 1 day delivery and Samsung service levels are quite good :-)

Brilliant product! I got it when it was on this price last time.

Plays MKV, divx files quite well, takes usb pen drives and external HDD as well!

Only gripe is it does not have a power off switch on the pannel and so you have to turn it off from the mains socket.

I have just bought this
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/708214/sharp-aquos-lc32c2te-32-full-hd-lcd

and tried it out against my Sony Bravia 32" HD ready set and for gaming I would definately recommend a full HD set, COD2 on my xbox on the full HD panel is superb..

I am also impressed with the freeview HD against SD

Thats almost 70£ more, is it worth going to 1080p with this price difference?

while the freeview HD will make a difference with set which is a bargain in its own right for having this! the resoultion shouldnt make it any better for playing mw2 as the games native resolution is 600p, so it will be upscaled on either set more so on 1080p so i would have thought that would be worse... (im not very techy), but hey if you play computer games from a metre away 1080p away! your old bravia might just have been a bit rubbish
#19
Fair point about the natural 600p but from what I have read the resolution upscaling must make a difference. The Sony LCD was only HD Ready 720p
#20
I'd be amazed if someone can see any difference between 720p and 1080p panels at this size - we've actually performed tests with media in 720p and 1080p on 32" screens.

This is also the latest series of models by Samsung - well worth the £259 delivered. Makes the £250 RS deal seem expensive now.
#21
ive taken the plunge and bought one, but can someone tell me how long the warranty is ? 12 months or more ?

this ebay outlet has all 0871 numbers for contact...rip off..

Guys if you're going to quote some one have the decency to include the WHOLE quote, you know, with the bit that reads...

yeah it makes a difference, but regardless of the resolution (from an appropriate distance) the quality of a picture when upscalling is going to be down the technology and chips within the set, (i think we can see from my terminology the extent of my knowledge) probably called a processor or sumthing , but its down to that anyway and with these LCD tv's the newer technology should be dealing with it best,

im betting your new sharp set is just better at upscaling than you old sony regardless of the res
