Or obviously £329 with a 5 YEAR GUARANTEE :O

The Samsung LE32C530 has all the features and the performance you'd expect from this world-class LCD TV brand.

With full 1080p HD Ready technology, the LE32C530 is more than ready for the new generation of High Definition sources such as Blu-ray. The full 1920 x 1080 resolution lets you see more detail than ever before and creates a vivid sense of realism. Also standard is Samsung's Wide Colour Enhancer engine. This unique Samsung system is driven by Samsung's HyperReal picture Engine and offers far more natural and convincing colours by strengthening the red, green and blues. A high contrast ratio also gives the LE32C530 excellent depth of image with subtle shading.

Although we'd always recommend a separate home cinema system, the Samsung's Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Pulse compatibility systems give a useful boost to audio performance. With indirect firing technology the, hidden, speakers create a spacious sound that's less boxy sounding than some.

A total of three HDMI sockets allow for the connection of all the HD sources you could need, such as an HD-TV box, HD camcorder and Blu-ray. New to this year's 530 model is Connect Share Movie via USB. The USB socket allows you to plug in media devices and watch video or photos from your camera, phone or other USB compatible device. In addition to this, the LE32C530 boasts SCART and component connections for your older sources. Furthermore, the PC input makes this attractive TV the perfect complement to your home computer - especially when used in conjunction with the Samsung's special Game Mode. Topping off the wide range of sockets is a digital optical sound output - ideal for connecting this Samsung 32 inch 1080p LCD TV to your home cinema for a useful upgrade in sound quality.

Completing this stunning 1080p Samsung is a stylish case finished in the same Crystal Rose high gloss look as their other, more expensive models. For added convenience the stand also swivels for the best viewing angle.

If it's a straight forward 32 inch TV, with all the basics covered, you're after, then the Samsung LE32C530 makes a great choice.

NOTE - £5 less than amazon...

May sound a silly question, but if i plug my external hard drive into the USB on this computer would I be able to play my films and the like?

And is 32" big enough if (the front of) my sofa is just over 2m away from the TV??

Thanks
#7
Yes it's big enough, I have a 32 myself and I normally sit just over 1.5 away and with the new samsungs can play pretty much any video from an external drive :)
#8

Yes I have this TV, from Amazon a few weeks ago and it plays pretty much any video I throw at it. It even played HD Transport streams 1080i @ 36mpbs despite the booklet saying the max bitrate was something like 18Mbps. Looked awesome.

I'd definitely recommend bigger for 2m. It may seem a little big at first but it wears off quick and you'll be so glad you did before long! Get 37" minimum. Maybe 40" if you'll mostly be viewing HD (bigger screen at closer distance shows SD flaws more).

i agree about the closer you are the worse SD looks,i have a 32" LED and from 2 meters away the SD looks almost HD quality but from close up it looks very poor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24p

Basically if a TV is 24p capable it means it can play the films 'purely', if they're not then some pulldown or other trickery has to be done to it.
#20
ok thanks, so to watch on a TV that cannot do 24p means the bluray will look worse to the naked eye

Hi Mickymcd,
Just wondering if you know what type of panel your TV has? Is it S-PVA, A-MVA or other?
Also is your model LE32C530, LE32C530F1, LE32C530F1WXXU or other?

Cheers,
FA
