great price

strange that the £40 discount works but the £50 doesn't

Looks like a glitch and hope it will be rectified soon

is it worth emailing them

This is an amazing price. To think it was only a few months ago that I bought the previous model to this, with no Freeview, 1 HDMI socket and 5000:1 contrast ratio for £600. Gutted. They're coming down in price so fast. Still, I can't be too unhappy because I still got an excellent TV.

Quidco gives additional 2.75% off so £458.05 with quidco??

is this better then the £399 panasonic last week?

I am actually tempted to go with the white. It is going to go in quite a small room so it might make it look less cluttered/imposing?

Also, does anyone know ehre i can find a decent picture of the white version?

Why do Samsung make TV's in this colour? Yuck.

Good price if you didn't fancy the white version. There's a £5 voucher in the voucher list also.

I think Edi's white one will end up slightly cheaper once they've sorted out the £50 voucher. :)

By their nature of design, are all LCD Tv's considered to have flat screens? The specs of this TV say that this is not a flat screen. Do Samsung do flat screen LCD Tv's?

Thanks everyone.

Yes, as far as I'm aware, all LCD TV's have 'flat screens'. :)

Egg card holders could try getting this from dixons as follows:

TV £507 incl free delivery
- £20 with code 20JULYAW
- 7% instant cashback
- [- 4% possible quidco too]

Think that works out a bit cheaper...£453 odd excluding possible quidco

pure class -funniest thing I have read in ages

Looks a great deal.

Can somebody who has one confirm which type of panel it contained ?
(There were three makes of panel in the 87's and 88's)

Thanks.

To find out panel manufacturer, check tv's "Model Sticker" (back of the television).

After [R] there should be "S" letter, then tv is equipped with Samsung panel.
That letter tells panel manufacturer:
S = Samsung
A = AUO (AU Optronics)
C = CMO (Chi Mei Optoelectronics)

Can anyone confirm if you can get both eggcard cashback and quidco?
#19
Can't do both I'm afraid, Egg only works through egg site, same for quidco.

Is this better than the Panasonic on offer at Amazon a few days ago. Also, how does it compare to the Toshiba 32WL66 on offer at Play a few weeks ago?

"Flat screen" refers to CRT. Therefore, if it isn't a CRT it won't have a "flat screen" even though the screen is actually flat! Confused?

This is like 10X better IMO, here's the review:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/review/2007/06/02/Samsung-LE-32R87BD-32in-LCD-TV/p1

but I'm still holding for a deal on this one mainly because the freeview on the tv is the best out there in terms of quality:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-32WLT68-REGZA-widescreen-ready/dp/B000I6J73W

http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/review/2006/11/23/Toshiba-Regza-32WLT68-32in-LCD-TV/p1

Arguably the best 32in on the market right now.

Does Egg give cashback for Currys ?

If you buy from Dixons, you're better off using Egg (7%) than Quidco.

I'd rather get the black one from dixons for £30 more
#31
how about pc connectivity?
