No, the new Samsung TV's come in series 4 5 and 6. The specifications are different, but they are all as new as each other.

This model is more like 2 months old, not 2 years. The new series is more like the A series, subdivided into the 4, 5 and 6 series. Yes the 6 is better than this, but this is still a new model. I've ordered one of the previous series, the 40" M87, because Amazon were selling them cheap through their warehouse clearance deals but it's been two weeks and it hasn't arrived yet. If they've screwed up the order I'll be ordering this instead.

No, this is Samsungs new Series 4 model. This is 720p/1080i though but still a good deal for a 40" Samsung. I'd pay more and go for the 1080p 40" Sony Bravia deal shown above.

my mum is after a new tv so might have to pick this one up. I presume this one is good enough just for day to day normal sky tv watching? I don't think cares that much about having a top of the range sony one.

why is that sony deal better? isit the spec or the general reviews?pose the 5 year warrenty is good too .Im tempted for both :)

Cmon now, that's debatable. You're linking a higher spec TV for a higher price, so not really a fair comparison :)

These Samsungs are great tellies. Normally I'd argue that 40" or above you should look to a 1080p set though, but it won't bother most middle-of-the-road people!

if you can afford sony D3500 is much better telly than this http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/195818/sony-bravia-kdl40d3500-40-full-hd-1/
