HDTVTEST are normally pretty good for reviews, the 5 Series is reviewed here:

Nice, I have a 46" Sammy M series in the living room... looking for a 40" in the bedroom (tv, haha). Hot! Ignore the pro Sony people, Samsung are much better- better pic quality, look better as a whole.

I ordered one of these on the 11th (LE40A559) - delivery was going to be within 14days, but they've just emailed this morning saying ETA is 31st Aug. :x
Cracking price though... temped to cancel the order and start again with the free delivery. £20 is £20 and I'd rather have it in my pocket that theirs

This is a good price if you must have 1080p, but the Panasonic TH42PX80B offers better overall picture quality (especially for SD sources like Freeview) for the same price and with 2" more screen size at the same price.

Not really a like for like comparison though is it?

40" 1080p LCD vs 42" Plasma (with native resolution of 1024 x 768)

awesome!!!!

My buddy ordered one around the 2nd of this month for £571 and is still waiting, he's been told that they'll call him back by the 30th of August, he won't have his TV then, they'll just update him then! They've already took his money too! How cheeky is that, isn't there some law against taking money for online purchases if you don't have the goods present for dispatch?

Heat added.

Considering I bought the LE40M86BDX for just over £700 (delivered) in Feb (which was a nice deal then - & it's a great HD TV btw) this is an amazing price.

ATM I'm slowly trying to talk the Mrs into a 46" or 52" when the 9th gen sets arrive (the 120Hz LED ones).

TBH I'm in no hurry tho, these latest Sammys really are very nice HD TVs.

I ordered one of these yesterday - delivery is going to be within 28days, but at this price, well worth the wait.
Thanks

We got this same TV from Amazon a couple of weeks ago for £599 delivered. Just checking on Amazon now its gone up to £615 so if you want it quicker than 28 days, you can if you are willing to pay a bit extra.
