I've been looking to buy this tv for a while...but I didn't have the dosh when Comet briefly had it for £639.99! Also, while John Lewis do pricematch, they are currently out of stock. I saw this offer on Crampton & Moore and thought it a good deal as it comes with a 3 yr warranty (admittedly not quite as good as the JL 5yr warranty!), and the free 1080p upscaling DVD player.

The free Samsung DVD-F1080 will upscale to 1080p, and also plays DivX....and all the reviews I've seem of it rate it very highly. Its generally for sale around the £60 mark.

also, in my opinion, its one of the best looking dvd players around....very sleek design!!!

Please don't just vote cold, at least give a reason.

The TV+DVD is £829 delivered. Going on the fact the dvd sells for £60, that makes the tv around £769 delivered (with a 3yr warranty).

If you can find it cheaper with a 3yr warranty or better(apart from pricematch with JL...who are currently out of stock), then please post the details!

And just as I say that, I find it cheaper myself...£799 with free dvd player and 3yr warranty!

£756.09 plus £19.90 delivery from www.dixons.co.uk
OK, no "free" DVD player, but you do get 5% Quidco, making the whole dealy £738.19 delivered.
Giving you nearly £90 to buy an upscaling DVD player (which are normally around £60).

You only get a 1yr warranty at Dixons.

I've put my new thread here...which works out at about £707 for the tv with the 3yr warranty (if you include quidco)...

But as they won't sell it without the DVD player, what you're saying is, it's £70 - £90 for an upscaling DVD player I don't want, and a 3 year warranty I probably won't use.

No, I said it was about £60 for the dvd player.

If you don't want the piece of mind of a decent warranty, then I guess thats your choice. However...I'd rather have that, especially if I was ever to consider buying a tv from Dixons or anyone else in the DSG Group!

You're saying:
TV + 1yr warranty = £738.19

I'm saying:

TV + DVD player + 3yr warranty = £767.04

So thats just an extra £28.85 for 2 yrs more on the warranty and an upscaling dvd player included. Do you still think the Dixons deal is better value?

That's your other deal.
The one here is £829 for a "free" DVD player and a 3 yr warranty.
The other one you posted (which I voted hot BTW) is a full £60 cheaper (at £767.04).

Oi, don't get snotty just because I think this particular deal is not a great one.
Just don't get your deals mixed up.
This one is cold, your other one is hot.

I didn't say the Dixons one was a better deal, it's just they don't force you to take the DVD player and warranty.
If you're looking for a good TV, at the cheapest possible price, then it's the Dixons deal.
If you're looking for a good package, it's the UK electrical discount deal (or whatever they're called).
This deal, right here, ain't a good one, because it's possible to get it £60 cheaper, for exactly the same deal.
The Dixons one is a different deal, which will appeal to a different group of people (maybe one's that have already got a DVD player, or one's that never go for the extended warranties).
It's not better, it's just different.

EDIT: One thing I don't understand.....Why is your other, hotter, deal getting more cold than this one, when it's a full £60 cheaper?
I thought I was strange :-)

I'm not getting snotty...but you commented on my post about the other deal which is why I assumed this is what you were referring to! Check out post no. 7 in this thread...

Yes....All under this thread relating to this deal.
I've posted a comment about the other deal over there.
This one is not a good deal, as it's £829 (no Quidco), but you do get a "free" DVD player and extended warranty.
The other one is £767, which you stated in your reply (post #7) in the wrong thread. You should have said something like "but £30 for a free DVD player and 3 year warranty is a good deal", but you should have put in in the other thread (rather than confusing people here, as it could be taken that this deal is £767, when it's not).
