I think its a good price, voted hot.
#2
It is a very good price for this TV alone, It's about £1100+ at other retailers and thats with out the Bluray player.

I think folk are put off because you can get other 40" HD TV's for less
#3
Its home delivery only but it may be worth a try to see if they would match instore if you took in a print out of your order.
#4
A mate of mine has just got the price matched instore
#5
These deals seem to get better by the day. Would have preffered a 37" as my viewing distance is only 9' 6" though. Voted hot:thumbsup:
#6
looks like you can also get 5% cashback through topcashback.co.uk!
#7
Voted Hot! Was just about to buy the 656 then saw this. Have a PS3 so will flog the BD player as they go for about 100! Great find!
#8
I just saw this TV in Currys. Really good. Normal (SD) channels are also fine provided you watch from 5 or 6 ft away.
#9
So maybe I would get away with this. I was worried that 9' 6" would be too close for SD viewing?

mate of mine has the 656 40" and sits about 9 ft away and the SD looks good. Size of TV just depends on how it looks in size compared to your room. Personally I would think it would be ok.

strange that the store price matched the site, since we've been told that we're not allowed to do that at all now.
maybe their regional management are more leniant than the North East area!

Sorry i wasn't clear. Its blu ray player with two blu ray movies. Not sure what those moveis are. I'm sure they would give some two old movies for the sake of giving I suppose.
#16
Are they offering the 5% discount instore aswell?

No.

This is a fantastic deal. Cheaper than the 40" 6 series.

The two free BD movies are I'm A Legend and Ocean 13:

isn't it 5%?
#22
I called into a store and they wouldn't price match their own website using the 5% code. Might as well order it online and save the hassle! :?

I think topcashback is 5% as well - not 10%.
#23
I had a choice between this and the series 6 a couple weeks ago. I found the panel on the series 7 to big and the tv doesnt swivel, and also looks too squared, in comparison to the curvy series 6.

Anyway £759 is an excellent price for this model, it was £1000+ just a couple weeks ago and it has LED Technology. Voted HOT!!
#24
This offer ends wednesday i think then back upto £999.
Good deal as this tv is around the £1100-£1200 mark.

5% discount code is 5weekend

free del code is FRDEL249 if you spend over £249

Will bring price down a bit more for you guys.

Ordered mine the other night with a stand (£879 before discounts) Voted hot :)

EDIT: didnt notice discount codes in OP.....!! sorry.

Sony DAV-DZ260 and Samsung HT-X715T (or HT-x710t) are worth buying as surround/cinema systems
#25
This deal is the one advertised in shops

I was in currys last week looking at the same version in 46" and the guy took m over to the 40" model which was hooked up to sky hd and was priced at £799 with free dvd player

I notice john lewis do the same model with free blue ray player do you think theres a chance to get it price matched for the 5 year warranty.

Where I am currys and john lewis are round the corner from eachother
#26
oops model on john lewis is a different model its the 786
#27

yes its good mate, dont forget cable is digital and the freeview built in is digital so it will look good, its 100mhz too so that reduces blur.

I've got the LE40A656 and it's a fantastic TV - this is at about 10ft viewing distance max. SD content via SCART from a sky box is worse than SD content via the built in freeview tuner though. I now have Sky HD and haven't looked back.

If anyone doesn't want the BluRay player thrown into this deal, I'll give you £100 for it as looking to buy one!

This set doesn't have LED technology. Only the 780 series and 9 series have LED tech.

Old Sky boxes usually look better on LCDs if you take off the RGB mode in the menu (on the skybox), too late for you though.

Oh Yeah, sorry!

Man, this is an excellent deal. Great post!
This same deal was £799 just 2 days ago, as was advertised in the Daily Mail.
The same TV is £799 on amazon alone without the blu-ray player
Tempted, but I just bought the LE40A616 3 days ago

Really interested in this TV but feel it might be too big for my room.

I thought of a place where it could go but the viewing distance will be 5.3-5.6 feet. Is this a good distance? I will be sitting on my bed when using.

I mainly want it for XBOX360/PS3 gaming and watching HD TV Shows.

I already have a 24" Monitor but feel this is too small to game on after owning it for 11 months.

If anyone can advise me that would be great as really considering this TV.
#36
how long will topcashback take to track 5% ??? alwayas was using quidco new to topcashback
#37
Just gone for this after some serious deliberation. Was gonna buy the 656 a few weeks ago for more I think.

#38
