£599 at John Lewis, so it really comes down to how much you value a 5 year warranty....
#3
Good price, but like Foxy said. £10 a year for a warranty is better value.

Don't forget 0.5% Quidco (£2.75) and 5% Varsity discount (£27.50). Potential price £519.75.

Potential price is indeed very good. I took a chance last year with a 32inch Samsung from Amazon and although it only had the 1 year warranty, the tv still serves me well (hope ive not jinxed it now). I know from my family their tv's always break down and their 5 year warranty kicks in and they always come back home with a bigger and newer tv for maybe £50 since their tv doesnt get made any longer.

Id still go with John lewis on this one :)

Warranty is a good thing and for 50 sheets extra not too bad but....

I have 3 lcd samsungs 40inch+ in my house and 2 are over 3 year old, 1 is 1.5 year old. My point is i have never had a problem with these. My family however have had many problems with the plasma versions with sound and vision being affected. Stick with lcd i say.

got this tv about 4months ago from Argos for £540 (one i ordered was out of stock) + 3years warranty

the tv is a class design looks much better than the oval stands.

4 hdmi & usb but only 50Hz

Sky(SD) looks ok, ps3/360 and HD content looks sweet. only downside is the sound, when watching programs you either can't hear it or it's too loud.

for £550 i highly recomend.

You are right about the sound i forgot to mention this. when watching sky on everyone of my samsung lcds you cant really go by 25 or its too loud. to watch a dvd on ps3 or my other dvd player you have to have it at 80. make sure you turn it down befor sourcing sky again. but when just palying ps3 normally you can keep it at 15-25 and its good.

I'd agree with this, I have the 32" version & it can be a pain, still like it though. Good deal, especially with RAC etc & the quidco

Same price at Dixon's and all i can say of Dixon's is they are one of the best companies I've ever bought a TV from the first TV i ordered was faulty with a few dead pixels so i rang Dixon's and explained there was 2-3 dead or stuck pixels they said it was no problem and that it was faulty in there eyes. Most companies have a policy regarding how many dead pixels before they will class it as faulty and there location on the screen but Dixon's said that even1 was unacceptable.

The TV was collected at my convenience which was 2 days later. The day before the collection was due i rang them up and told them i wanted to get a better model and that id seen it somewhere else cheaper.Which it wasn't when i bought the original faulty set but it had just been dropped by a fair amount and asked them to price match it which they did the new TV was delivered the next day all unwrapped by there delivery guys so i could inspect it when i was happy they left. I received a phone call the end of the week from there customer service team and they asked me if i was happy with it and explained to me that if i wasn't they would happily fetch it back and i could choose another.

The other good thing with Dixons is that theres usually a code for 5-10% off it free delivery and it use to be i dont know if it still is a decent quidco cash back amount so will end up being cheaper and from a decent company.
