Fantastic TV... I got one in the Amazon deal last week and it's well worth every penny.

Thinking about using this as a monitor for my PC, anyone know of any decent Dvi to HDMI converters as thats what my graphics card outputs well and VGA of course.
#7
Hot, even without cashback this is the lowest price you'll find this TV, hope stocks hold up until Monday when I'll have the money ;-)

Arggghhh, I am getting so frustrated with these deals on the low end models..... WHEN WHEN WHEN will the decent models with [email protected] and Media 2.0 come down in price.... (6 Series).... They're around the £700-£800 price point for this size.... Wanting one for my bedroom but waiting for sub £500...

TV = Good
BestBuy = Bad

Same price at Amazon (can't guarantee cashback for the BestBuy cowboys), would MUCH rather buy there.

They're much lower than £700 for the 40"

The prices seemed to better before Xmas but don't seem to be moving much.
This is an OK price, BestBuy had the UE40C5800 for £549 before Xmas with 15% cashback.
#12
Best TV by a big margin in this price bracket. You would need to spend another £200 to get anything better.

i need help with this too. i'm using this tv via a dvi to hdmi adapter via my hd3650 and the picture i'm getting is giving pictures and youtube video's a bad quality as if the images have been slightly painted and there is still some blur despite the fact i have turned up the dpi. would a better graphics card sort out the problem or is this simply the fact the size of the image compared to my previous screen is so big as it would be nice to watch youtube in true hd

It's a very good set, regardless of it being only 50Hz.

Wireless Remote Control: No ?????????????????????????

Yeah that is one downside, the remote has a cable running round to one of the connections on the back of the tv. Still a small price to pay for a good tv. ;)

This TV is truly amazing ...I bought it in jan when Best Buy where offering 22.2% cash back (works out at £335 if they payme)

Picture quality is very good espesially when you get the settings right, but where this TV shine's the most is the built in media player which you can use by either USB or DLAN and it plays everything I throw at it including 1080p MKV's

With reguards to Best buy paying out on cash back is becoming very doubtful. Mine tracked with in 8 hours at like £85 but its jsut a waiting game to see if I get paid. Been 6 weeks for me now and there average payment speed is about 8-9 weeks so will just wait and see.

How do you claim cash back?

I have this TV as well and am very happy with it. Excellent quality and screen (although the panel lottery means not all are exactly the same). It has Freeview HD and as already mentioned, it'll play pretty much any media file, including subtiitles! If you're a keen gamer then make sure you put it in game mode to get the lowest input lag. With game mode off the lag is slightly noticeable but when it's on it's fine. The only thing missing really is internet tv which I would have liked too. You may want to consider the LG 42LD490 as that seems to have the lot for similar money, however I can't comment on whether the picture is as good. Either way, you won't be disappointed with this TV.

You got to be joking. Having a wire follow you all around the room... we are in the 21st century. Jezz where do these manufacturer's get these stupid ideas from?? For the sake of saving a couple of quid.

Can anyone confirm this pls? This tarnishes my deal considerably if doesn't have a proper remote. That must be wrong surely??? Am confused. Just seen on Amazon:

Box Contains
# TV
# Remote control
# Batteries
# Power cable
# Instruction booklet

Glad I wasn't the only one.

unlike the c530 and c550, this has no true 24p support. but great tv and great price.
#34
Had mine 2 weeks bloody awesome telly, easy to set up and use, plays stuff straight off the memory stick no probs and works fantastically with my 360.

Well pleased

Would like to purchase this TV but the company best buys is putting me off from the reviews on the internet about them anyone had any experience with them??
#36
Just ordered from Bestbuy, 10% cashback swung it their way, fingers crossed :-/
#37
I also took the chance and ordered from best buys lets see if they pay the cash back
#38
Topback tracked £33.66
#39
I also just purchased from Bestbuy, order was tracked thru quidco £33 but i just received an email today saying order amended to:

Samsung 40" LCD TV Rose Black Crystal

This is worrying me a bit. I hope its the C580...I am abroad at the moment so cannot ring them but will send them an email and wait until delivery (thursday) to see what I get.

Anyone else had this problem?
#40
I also received an email today with the title You've cancelled your order? when I read it they are saying that As you requested, we've amended your order with Best Buy. You'll find your new order details below. Thanks again for ordering from Best Buy. Mine also says Samsung 40" LCD TV Rose Black Crystal but so did my original confirmation order I have rang them and they have said that there has been no alteration to my original order we shall see it is getting delivered on Thursday so I will post an update on here about it. I am hoping it is the correct TV and the only reason I can think they have done this is because it has something to do with the cashback as mine is also tracking £33 but it has not been validated yet.
