Not really. It's been this price at Richer Sounds for a while, plus you then have the option to pay 10% more for a 5yr guarantee. Or better still get John Lewis to price match Richer Sounds as their after sales support/service is meant to be better.

I bought one recently after much research, having concluded that it's the best tv available in the £400 price bracket. I recommend it to anyone.

There is, however, an interesting £438 deal on a refurbished C650 at http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/13646554/Samsung-Series-650-40-inch-LE40C650-Full-HD-1080p-Freeview-HD-LCD-TV/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0&searchstring=le40c650&searchtype=allproducts&searchsource=0&urlrefer=search . The C650 is the highest scoring 'Best Buy' TV tested by Which? Magazine.

How do you get John Lewis to price match please? Thanks!

Prefer to spend £400 on a good quality 32inch 200hz tv.

Ex-demo/ex-repair, and you probably wont find one in stock anyway (when you do find them, they are in awful condition).
And John Lewis won't price match them as they are effectively second hand (they are such poor condition I wouldn't even call them refurbs).

Look a little closer next time.

John Lewis have now 'reviewed' their pricematch policy and now factor in the 5 year guarantee where previously they did not. I got this set from JL for £450 with the 5 yr guarantee a cpl of months back. Cracking set.

They weren't clearance yesterday, and John Lewis price matched one for me (taking into account the price plus the 5yr guarantee) so it's very recently they've switched to show it as clearance. Should have checked before posting admittedly.

no true 24p support. voted hot for the price

Just goes to show, a general rule for TV's. You should be paying no more than £10 per inch for a Full HD, Freeview HD telly.

I have this TV, its excellent, Movies & games etc, dont actually use it for any sort of live TV but i'm sure it would cope well.

But with what i hear about Samsung, i'm glad i got a 5 year warranty

I bought this TV middle last year to replace a 37" Samsung TV and find it excellent. It can display pictures and play music or movies files from an attached hard drive or streamed from you computer attached by a network cable. This it does almost as good as my expensive high def media streamer. I don't think you will find a better 40" TV for the same sort of price.

Hi I have this tv but sometimes the picture is not clear does anyone know why? the faces on the people seem a bit fuzzy and sometimes I see wavering is it because you have to sit facing the tv and not at an angle or because its a 50Mhz or is it because I need to do something in the settings.

What do you have plugged into it?

I have sky plus and a combi video dvd recorder they are not all plugged directly into the tv but they are all connected together in some way. It did cross my mind that it could be the video/dvd combi which is causing the problems. What do you think is this any help?
