good deal - the TV and "free" 3d blu ray player at amazon are around £800 at Amazon if you are less concerned re: warranty (guessing 2 pairs of glasses is standard? but may well be wrong)

(still voted hot btw, just thought that comment might be useful to anyone on a tighter budget)

No glasses with the Amazon one.

Says about halfway down "3D Glasses not included"

All Samsung 3DTVs have one pair of free glasses by redemption although not sure how long this will last for.
#5
i think all new stock have a pair of glasses in the box now

Thanks, heat added, been looking at this tv for a while, but the guarantee on all items swung in JL's favour. Note to everyone though, the price is £979.00, not £999 and monsters vs alien dvd is not included.

I think the TV on it's own is £999 but the special offer including the TV, player and 3D starter kit (glasses & film) is £979. So if you don't want the Blu Ray player and Starter kit it will cost you an extra £20. The phrase 'No brainer' seems appropriate.

Prices have now been updated. Both TV and package are now £999 so if you were going to buy this your hesitation has lost you £20 :-)

JL have changed prices again. The special offer is now priced at £989, £10 less than the TV on it's own.

I'd like to see the price of the third pair of glasses.....

And before someone says, they wont be the cheap passive glasses you get at the cinema, its a completely different technology

should have glasses in the box and also be able to send off for a free pair..a possible 4 pairs of glasses.shows a picture of the starter pack with the film monsters vs aliens inside but doesn't mention it in the description....mmmm confused.com...............great deal either way though, have some heat

Forget about the Amazon description, it is wrong, I can confirm that the TV at Amazon has 1 pair of glasses (got it recently). You also get another one free from Samsung website ( I received mine in 3 days). I went for the Amazon deal, for £1,059.54 you get a larger TV (46"), 2 pais of glasses and a free Blu Ray player. It is a great TV, if you are tempted think twice: go and compare the TV's in a shop, the larger version is much nicer!

A 40incher for a 1000 notes is never a hot deal even if it dances and humps your leg, especially when 3yo Panny's have better contrast, motion and colour accuracy.

samsung 3d tv is just the pits. save your cash and wait for a good deal on a sony! i know theyre more expensive and this is about the deal, but its not a good deal unless the product is worth watching. £989 is still £989, go and see the competition for yourself. This is the budget 3dtv of the budget 3dtv brand!

I agree about 3D, but SD better than HD.....you are the mug if you believe that.

exleymead: do you have a sony 3d? have you compared it with a samsung before you bought it? don't think so! another muppet who gives advice just for the sake of it! use a bit of google (start with this http://www.best-3dtvs.com), read a few reviews, get some information ... you will find that at this moment in time samsung makes the best 3d tv's out there... and resonably priced!

im just shocked this is taking off and people will splooge a grand on these tvs.

you are foreced to watch tv with awful goofy looking glasses. i dont want that at all.

HD is obviously better than SD, but i dont think 3D will take off over HD its too much of a gimmick. we see life in 3D so why do we need our tv to be that way???

i take it the 3D bluray is a bit of a con too, and if you have a PS3 i think sony will be making that 3D enabled with an update which i guess would be free.

i suggest anyone still with an SD TV not bother with this, get a normal HDTV as this will be done in 2 years.

i do have a Sony 3DTV, and believe me i researched the whole purchase thoroughly, tried on all the glasses, watched that god awful monsters vs aliens demo against the Sony cloudy with a chance of meatballs demo, and I made up my own mind. i will pass the question back to you as i honestly do not think you have LOOKED at the TV and its rivals.

another muppet who forms opinions based on other peoples opinions (_;) how about you go and form your own opinions and review it for yourself! i did and therefore i believe im in a much better position to comment!

i got the same package
awesome tv, also the tv plays mkvs
so i dont need the 3d blu-ray player
can confirm 1 pair of active 3d specs in the box and 1 pair by redemption on the samsung website
also on the same page you can get the 3d starter kit which has 2 more pairs of active 3d glasses and monsters vs aliens 3d blu-ray for only £92, cheapest ive seen anywhere

should be 4 pairs then
one in box (unless you have old stock tv box)
one by redemption
and 2 in the starter kit
it looks like when the tvs where alot more expensive you got the starter kit free
I.E. no need for a pair in the tv box
but when the price dropped on 3d tvs the must of decided to put a pair in the box
and then charge for the 3d starter pack
as my box had a sticker on the bottom left saying 1 pair of 3d glasses inside
