Hi All

I don't know where anyones interested in this:

SAMSUNG LE40R73BD for £891.00!! This is the BIG Brother of the one on offer here. I've just ordered one from Currys at this unbeatable price! The link to the set is:http://www.currys.co.uk/product.php?sku=951546&camp_id=BTVP and then put in the following codes:

Promotion Code: 951546CFP will get you £260.99 off.
then
Promotion Code: TENEMAIL gets you a further £98.90 off.

This brings it down from £1,249.99 to £891.00!! I've had a look around the net and this seems to be the best price for this outstanding Samsung LCD TV.

What do you think?

Cheers
Steve:)

Nice one. I was going to buy the £891 one then saw this cheaper one and thought I would go for that but after reading this post and a comparison went for the £891 one as it has a lot more features for a fq quid more.

There is no difference apart from styling and the tuner. IF you are going to use Sky anyway then you may as well get the cheaper version.

R71B = Blue (bottom) + Black (casing)
R72B = Silver + Black
R73BD = Blue + Black + DVB - T tuner
R74BD = Silver + Black + DVB - T tuner
R71W = White

Im sure this must be a mistake, but on Samsungs very own UK website, they don't have a mention of a 40" R72, Curry's haven't made a mistake have they?

Here's the link to Samsung if anyones interested

Welcome to HotUKDeals owtbar and Thanks for the post :)

PRICE10 is for 10% off and there's a free delivery code PRFREEDEL but don't think there's a specific one for that model.
#17
Hereare the codes for that TV, but I don't think the codes apply when it's on a package deal on the curry's website. It may be cheaper for you to buy the items individually.

Welcome to the forums.

Thanks for posting this, it's a really great offer :)

I'd really love to order this TV, but it's such a lot of money, and I need to think it over. Does anyone know how long the discount codes are valid for?

Just brought the SAMSUNG LE40R73BD 40" HD Digital LCD TV

Thanks to all the people on here

Hope the picture is fine as have normal sky+ box. Just wanted to know if anyone can recommend a decent price for tv stand. Also if i need it for the above tv, a home cinema sound system

Once again thanks!!
#21
I am also looking at a possible home cinema system. It is a minefield.
You dont NEED a system, but it would be nice.

I would like to connect the TV to:
HDSky via HDMI
DVD system via Component
Xbox 360 via Component
HD-DVD will be via the Xbox 360.

Could I put audio for all 3 through optical / coaxial into a decent Home Cinema system.
I would then only need 1 HDMI (for SkyHD) since HD-DVD will go via 360 via component?

Can somebody please confirm if the below is correct?
And are there any other sources that may require HDMI (PS3 wont be bought, HD-DVD will go via component)?

I was looking at making sure the DVD player had HDMI, but I think I am correct in assuming that a DVD player doesnt need HDMI since the DVD themselves are only 480 lines. I can therefore just use component?

Hope all that makes sense?

It's probably just referring to the stand attached to the TV, so it can stand freely. (as opposed to being wall mounted)
#25
Welcome to the forums don2345. Hope you enjoy your new TV. I think that Curry's would be referring to the small "stand" that it's on, not a large floor-standing stand.

IIRC, they finish today.

Anyone got this TV yet? I've ordered it, and it's due to arrive next Saturday. I want to get a wall bracket for this asap, but don't know which one to get and where it's cheapest!!

John Lewis have a couple around the £30 mark, but I don't know if they are suitable.

How's the picture quality, etc?
#29
You bought it, and then asked if the picture quality is ok?? That is 1 way to do it :p

I think its like most LCD's, excellent from a decent source, but not as good as a decent CRT when receiving a poor source, such as analogue TV, Sky via scart etc.
#30
I had the 32" version for a while, amazing in HD via my Xbox 360 but poor on Sky+ connected with an Ixos (top brand) scart lead.

Anything moving fast is a nightmare.

Picture on my Sony 32" CRT beats it by a mile. Think i'll wait til everyting is HD in a few years then invest in one. By then probably pick up a 40" for under £300 the way the prices are falling lately.

I reckon Janurary sales will see some amazing prices if people hang on.

hi has this deal expired?

Expired. The CFP does is not working any more. I wonder have Currys cancelled them all... :?

Welcome to the forums by the way test4500!
#37
I hope they haven't cancelled them! My telly arrives on Friday
UPDATE - just checked and they've cancelled the cfp code for the Samsung but not for all TVs. The one for the 42" Toshiba still works and gives over £300 off. If you're looking for a TV still give this a go, just not on this model.
#38
OK thanks bigluygs. Glad they haven't cancelled them all, as there are loads of great deals on here :)
#39
I ordered it on Sunday but I still get the message "Security check in progress" when I check the status online. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm not sure if I should ring them or not.
#40
Ignore that, they just rang me.
