Good for me too........

This is very cheap, i wonder if the price is actually correct.

This is the DSG group exclusive model (i.e. Currys/Dixons/PC World) but essentially is identical to the LE40R87BDX which is priced at nearly £670 on the same site.

I find it strange that this site is selling this TV at all (as it is a DSG exclusive) and are selling it for £175 less (excluding postage) than Dixons online.

If it is a pricing errorr they have it covered in their T&Cs

Id say this is a mis-price.

They don't do the Samsung LE40R88BDX the one they offer is the LE40R87BDX (the same I know) and the price shown is £669.97

Edit OK found it now the link is not working correctly. I am also puzzled as to why they are offering the Dixons/Currys "exclusive" model.

Anyone ordering?
#15
I've just ordered mine. We'll see how it goes.
#16
I cant find any reviews on this model. Im assuming its as good as the Dixons one and looks exactly the same?
#17
:-D
ordered over the and confirmed for pickup on tuesday - no probs
#18
These are graded tvs. Notice the /A after the model number? It means that these tvs boxes were opened and they may have been taken out of their boxes.
#19
I dont like the fact they charge 0.95% for using a credit card. Hate using debit card for things like this.
#20
Has anyone manage to ring Dixons up and get them to price match?
It would be worth trying the price matching at John Lewis for the R87 model, as it comes with 5 yrs warranty.

These are probably returns to DSG group, and get supplied to direct tvs to be sold at a lower price.

Yes most probably. You can even call them to confirm this.
#23
What does this mean though? That they were once faulty? Display models?
#24
Dixons will only price match if the product Is in stock and available for immediate delivery.

Have you also rang them and checked if these graded/returns still carry the standard 1 yr warranty?
#26
From their website:

"These TVs are box opened and carry a 12 month warranty from Direct TVs, the box may be worn and the TV may have been previoulsy unpacked. The TV will be in A1 condition."
#27
Just bought one myself direct from a friend who bought a job lot, dixons have a load of these returned and then selling to shops etc....

It may be that Direct TVs consider them A1 but presumably the original owner did not.

I wish I have a friend like yours who sold you a 40" LCD for £360. Don't tell me your friend owns Direct Tvs!

:-D

Well, only if direct tvs sell these A-grade stock for £360, I'd have jumped in and bought one.

Removed a few posts, the hot deals forum is not the place to be asking/carrying out private trades.

Just phoned them up and was told they had 23 orders but 5 TV's in stock :? The nice lady did however say she would ring me on monday to say if they would be getting any more in so will report back!
#32
I rang this morning and was told should be some end of next week its local to me so i can go pick one up when they get them unless i can find a phillips 42pfl5522d under £630 and in stock first.
#33
I have ordered one - didn't notice the /a at the time :-(

They say payment taken - delivery tbc.

Are they likely to be used or not - if they are used then an extra £80 for brand spanking new is not so much (from Dixons with codes).
????
#34
How come this has been marked as expired? Cant you still buy them?
#35

Just got off the phone after waiting a while (10 mins) .. and the nice guy on the other end said this was a BRAND NEW UK spec tele. Should be with me tomorrow.

It sounded as though they were to have some more too as I spoke to a technical bloke and a salesman.

Might be worth keeping an eye on this thread / link. There was a "/a" in the title which usually means factory refurbished. But the complete spec didn't say anything - that's why I bought it.

Touch wood it is as it's says !

12 month Samsung warranty.
