Why is it suspicious? Its not a bad price at all really. there are maybe better out there but still i do not think this is in any suspect to any foul play......

If you are suggesting the OP added heat him/her self then you might want to try and do the same on a deal you put on here..... You wont get far HDUK are very fast at spotting didgy people.

this seems ok to me.

it's just unusual that nobody commented especially the heat given - I was waiting for someone to say no freeviewHD :-)

Normally plenty of comments from the 'TV Crowd' either singing the praise or damning it.

Price is decent - I know that Richer Sounds is doing it for approx £480- so a decent saving.

Sony arn't that special anymore they have gone down hill in the last 10 years.IMO and many others.

The c580 is a good buy on a budget and is better than the c530. I would stay away from sony myself and have been advised too. The c580 is great value for money and i wouldn't doubt the samsung 5 series is the best selling tvs along with lg's 4 series (450/490 not sure if they class them as series)

Forget sony, get the c580 or this c530 if you can't afford a c580

I haven't understood why internet tv would or will take off as i thought most people have either a ps3 (iplayer ect ect) or a laptop or computer that could easily be connected to the tv by hdmi ect

Maybe that one is just me as i see no real need.

Just my views check hdtv for reviews the c580 is rated pretty good when compared to others in the same price range.

Hmmmm....Try putting your 2 year old in front of a laptop, plugging it in, waiting for it to boot, logging in, waiting some more, firing the browser, hooking it via HDMI to the tv, getting it to switch to output display, going to bbc.co.uk/iplayer, selecting cbeebies, etc....then having emails popup, skype messages, screensaver....etc.! You will soon have a kid running havoc with boredom....

Granted the PS3 may be a bit more straightforward, but still MUCH easier to pop to channel 901 huh! :D

Thats just one example, but I think you catch my drift - CONVENIENCE of on demand via the same tv you already are watching and nothing else to setup!!

Thats fair enough. (_;) So the lg ld490 is one of the cheapest internet tvs if not the cheapest...... Just wondered what it costs for interenet tv as it seems to be a fair bit for a feature that many need powerline adapters or wireless for it. As well as the extra money you need to get a model with it. (Depending on brand)

Notice how most sites have stopped quoting Power Consumption in use? They only quote Standby figure!!!

I'm sure this is on purpose, because they don't want you to realise how much electricty they use compared to the newer LED sets.

LED all the way, LCD is getting old

Lcd is better value for money, led is only worth it on high end sets not the 500-£600 ones i mean the 1-2k

Led has problems like plasma and lcd.

So don't say its better when you know very little or can't prove it.

As it comes down to how/what you use your tv. Everyone can have their own view :3

Just so you know i have tried led and it wasn't a great experience

Haha you still think they use a lot less ?

If you change the settings on a c580 you would use say 80 watts a hour compared to 65 watts.

It's not a reason to buy LED as the quoted power they give you is most likely when its up to full but a good level is 3 or 4 out of 20 on the c580 So do the maths.

You would have to be stupid and brainwashed to beleive it would save you a great deal of £££ considering people only really use tvs for 2-3 years before they are replaced. That extra £100-£250 ect that you spend getting led over lcd won't pay you back the extra you paid.

The samsung c5100

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-UE40C5100-40-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B003DNSJ1I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1300379523&sr=8-3

The samsung c530 (Both 40" and the c5100 is the led version of the lcd c530)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LE40C530-40-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B003EEM1LK/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1300379541&sr=1-2

So please tell me you will save the difference. (its £150 + more) Research before you class that as a reason to buy LED over LCD.It will take a long time to save £150

Considering 1kw = 1000w = 10-20p Depending on tariff ect Peak/Off-Peak

The c5100 i had suffered from horrible blue tint when viewed from any angle. The bigger the angle the worst it got and on dark scenes it was silly.Which is why it went back and i won't consider LED unless i buy a top of the range one.

Hope it helps someone.

You want to try the Samsung Le46c750
It's about £730 on amazon; i want it for because:
a/ it's full HD 1080p
b/ it's 200hz
c/ it's internet ready
d/it's 3D READY!!!!!

I've been watching it for a few weeks and been watching it come down from £750. Reviews have a lot of good things to say about it too i think. looks like a really awesome TV. The 40" version is £699 instore at Currys lol I'd say the 46" is worth the extra money haha

its funny how a lot of the threads for technology items like TV's get turned into a spec-compare-fest as if the "hot uk deal" that's been spotted is just the catalyst. before you post you should really think if you are on or off-topic, and join a proper forum group like avforums if you want to fill the net with angst about which model has a bigger willy than another - not that I don't like dabbling in that myself, but I don't think this website is the place to do it !

and so ends my application to be a hotukdeals moderator :p

Fantasic price for a 50"

A word of caution regarding Samsung LCD panels and larger LCD panels in general:

1. There is often a panel lottery with the 5-Series - you cannot guarantee that the item a magazine has reviewed well will be what you get. I bought a C580 based on a good magazine review which used a Samsung PVA panel. The unit I got was non-Samsung panel from AU Optronics and suffered from reduced blacks and I think slower response times.

2. Motion blur - if you are sensitive to this a 46 inch LCD panel at 50Hz will drive you mad - I have just returned my LE46C580 for this very reason - watching for more than 30 mins was painful.

Why am I posting this here? Just to warn people to do their homework before buying - I wish I had.

Just bought the 50 inch Panasonic listed here as a replacement (although this is £200 more).

Still voting this hot though - if motion blur doesn't affect you this is a scorching deal.
