don't agree with your "only" title! that's a lottta money.

a 46" full hd sammy for say £600, a BR player say £80, how should it costs £500 for 3D?

i'll wait and see what develops with this 3D circus!
#4
"only" is a subjective term. He is entitled to his opinion. You always pay the premium to be on the forefront of technology.
#5
so has anybody been able to buy this, or is this going to get mega heat like the last one. and nobody can actually buy it.

because im getting the same not available in your area message, as the last one
#6
you can only buy it this sat/sun from info I got from comet last night

You could also compare a Mini to a Porsche if it makes you feel better.

Hardly a sensible comparison is it? More like a standard mini and a mini with some added gadget that while nice isn't really necessary.

I think the poster has a right to their opinion of waiting to see where it all goes. It's not like the step up from SD to HD is it? Obviously the extra cash is because of early adoption of new technology but on a site that people come to in order to save money, do not get surprised if one or two people want to do that by waiting.
#10
Price is good in comparison to other 3d systems - heat added.

Won't buy myself - have a large family and can't justify 'wasting' money on enough glasses when they won't be used most of time.
#11
Should I buy or wait for the price to drop further! Ps3 in 3d is gonna be mint!!!
#12
If you phone comet they will actually take order and do the 8% off over the phone...just ordered mine
£1195 inc delivery...:-))))
#13
you only live once!! if you have the cash and its what you want "then get it" lol

How do you know that stock will only be avilable from tomorrow.

Well I just spoke to someone on the online help bit, and they said there is a problem with the item at the moment and the IT Team is working on fixing the issue and you should be able to order in an hour or 2
#18

Hot but they do not deliver to Norther Ireland. Do you know any one can price match this item ????

Anybody seen this set in action?

I'm a sports fan so my only use for it really. I did see that Sky will only show one match a week in 3D which is a bit poor. I'd also like to know what they are doing with the nfl.
#22
The 40" looks superb so no doubting this set. The 750 range gets excellent reviews on avforums etc.

Why expired, this is available AND COMET ARE ACCEPTING ORDERS BY PHONE TODAY

Got a one in our local pub, watched a bit of the world cup on it and wasnt impressed at all, maybe worth waiting until the technology has the bugs ironed out.

A lot of extra ££££ for a 3D novelty. If I was ever going to consider this i would want a TV that does not require you to wear special 3D glasses to view. If Nintendo can do it with a 3D DS then no doubt in time the technology could be adapted for TV's.

I really hate these adverts for 3d tv's. How is his right hand displayed above the screen!? This must be false advertising?

Good price...

Dont see the point of buying a 3d tv for watching a odd 3d movie or very limited 3d content.

Not voted.

The 3DS uses headtracking to generate a 3D effect so is only good for one person - whoever's head it is tracking. Anybody else watching won't get the same results. Also it relies on the natural movement of your head in relation to the screen, which is far more pronounced on using a handheld device than sitting watching TV. Furthermore the screen's input has to be generated, fine for a video game but unless you've got an industrial-scale video renderer under your TV then you won't be able to get a 3D film out of it.

Personally I wouldn't jump into the 3D thing until the newer technology which doesn't require the glasses reaches a reasonable price. 3D seems interesting but having to wear the glasses is a real turn-off.

You may want to change that to some added gadget that not everyone can actually see!

3D is a gimmick invented to push consumers to buy new TV's (and accessories) and push up cinema ticket prices so they can make more money and help combat piracy

Is James Cameron turning Titanic into 3D because it will make the movie better? No it's so he can re-release (like the incoming Avatar re-release this month) it at the cinema and make yet more money

You'll be waiting a long time then. No matter what you may have heard, the stereoscopic effect cannot be achieved without some kind of differentiation between what goes into each eyeball. Ye cannae change the laws of physics, captain!
